â sorry! sorry. â he was a sweaty mess, even though he drove from his last destination. caleb cleared his throat, barely acknowledging the other officer that passed the two of them. he was still trying to decide how to tell his partner. it wasnât like it was anythingâŚhuge. really. sort of. caleb was probably justifying too much. â i found one of those undercover fighting rings that weâve been talking about for the past few months. and⌠maybe i fought in a few of them. â not just now, he would have been an unsociable mess if that were the case. it was partially to get his blood racing, partially in the name of infiltrating ( or so he claimed ) â but itâs fun. its dirty and weâd have to be careful how we try to break it upâ â he grinned, one of his famous shit-eating smiles, â but damn itâs fun. i was watching- â he cleared his throat and lowered his voice, â maybe this isnât the place to really tell you everything. â there were several cops around them, milling as they were all heading out or coming back from assignments. â thanks for covering me. â
Watching his partner react almost without care to some extent was really worrying him. As the other began to explain the reason for his absences he furrowed his brows together, trying to conceal his anger. âYou what?â he asked looking at the other. When he suggested they go outside, he didnât say anything he just made his way to the outdoors, he didnât want to have this conversation in the car, so once they were outside he faced his partner. âCaleb, youâve always done some pretty stupid shit, but this.â He urged. âThe second you found that ring, you should have called it in, thatâs what weâve been talking about. Breaking up those things, not join them.âÂ
