You come into existence with a profound sense of greed.
You're not a wolf among sheep, not quite.
Even if that predator were to don the pure-white hide of the flock, its teeth would give it away, yellow and sharp.
You are far more insidious, a talkative student in a library, among other students.
Before you know it, you have multiplied, and now everyone is talking in this once-still place of scholarship.
Is my body a place of learning? Yes, surely.
Billions of chemical reactions, the beauty and complexity of cellular function, catalyzed in the medium of life.
Sense organs receive stimuli with faithful prowess, electricity sparks along imagined axons, my brain receives, processes, passing the information along.
My body can adapt, but not to you.
You don't even know that you are an invader, a destroyer, a betrayer of genetic code thousands of years in the making, an age-old nemesis.
You must live, thrive, double and triple, and in doing so, I must recede.
I must surrender life to you, casual, eager invader, but you don't see that this is the least of it.
You tunnel, obliterate, spread your malign influence in a kingdom that should belong to me. To battle you, I must destroy further parts of myself, offerings at the altar of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation.
I must surrender my sleeping self to the hands of doctors, to surgical tables, to brilliant lights that show all the tender flesh I am made of, to knives and knives and more knives.
I emerge, pared away, little more than a husk meant to build a foundation on, all because of you.
In all of this, you are blameless, a simple forgery, a mistake, an over-expression of proteins that should never have been given such a message.
And you have such greed.
Ugly, ugly little cancer cell, how I wish you, more than any variation of life, would shrivel and die away forever, under the unforgiving sun of my rage.

In April 1991, The Heat is On "Miss Saigon:" Coalition to End Racism and Sexism on Broadway, which was led by Asian Lesbians of the East Coast (ALOEC) and Gay Asian and Pacific Islander Men of New York (GAPIMNY), protested the musical "Miss Saigon" at the Broadway Theater over its stereotypical portrayals of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) people, especially women. Additionally, the demonstration opposed Lambda Legal Defense Fundβs use of the showβs preview for its annual fundraising benefit despite earlier objections from members of ALOEC and GAPIMNY.
The first action took place on April 6th (the show's preview) with approximately 500 demonstrators, consisting of members of ALOEC, GAPIMNY, and various LGBT organizations chanting and carrying signs protesting the musical. They were stopped by the police and required to stand across from the theater. Six coalition members were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, with Joe Pressley and John Kusakabe, both people of color, being beaten by the police during their arrest. Organizers Milyoung Cho and Yoko Yoshikawa were given tickets by showgoers and gained access to the performance. Once inside, Cho and Yoshikawa waited for lead actor Jonathan Pryce, who had received considerable criticism for his role as a Eurasian pimp, to enter the stage before disrupting the musical. Cho and Yoshikawa whistled and yelled, "This play is racist and sexist, Lambda is racist and sexist," before being removed from the theater and returning to the demonstration outside.

"don't assign human morality to non human things" is so true except when it comes to printers. they know what they are, they understand dilemmas and ethics and morality. they choose to be how they are, they choose to be evil, at their very core they are rotten
Four sapphic women from history to know this Lesbian Day of Visibility!
In 15th-century Korea, SA BANGJI, an intersex woman, had a ten-year relationship with another woman, Lady Yi. Sadly, we only know about Sa Bangji because she was prosecuted when the relationship was discovered. In 1988, her story was adapted in the Korean film Sa Bangji.
19th-century English landowner ANNE LISTER devised a secret code to record the intimate details of her love affairs with women. Anne wrote 6600 pages, or almost 4 million words of diaries, giving us a treasure trove of information about her life, and one of the only first-hand accounts we have of female same-sex relationships in the 19th century.
In the Nazi-occupied Netherlands, lesbian cellist FRIEDA BELINFANTE forged ID cards to help Jewish people go into hiding, and raised money for Jewish artists who were not allowed to work under Nazi laws. Frieda never hid her sexuality, and had relationships with several women throughout her life.
Self-identified βBlack, lesbian, mother, warrior, poetβ, US writer AUDRE LORDE explored the intersections of these identities in her work. She focussed her activism on fighting for women who, like her, were excluded from mainstream feminism, whether because of class, race, sexuality, or disability.
