the tag team women’s champion could feel his breath on her earlobe and it sent shivers down her spine, making her forget her situation for a short second. “i don’t want to get rid of you, mr. brooks. guess that’s the problem you have with me now. you won’t be able to shake me off.” another loose smile spread across her face as she nodded. “much better, thank you for being here for me.” she looked up, her fingers carefully wiping off the destroyed mascara that created black bags under her eyes. then she chuckled. “can we grab dinner and leave this for tomorrow ? i don’t think i am strong enough to handle it today …”

“i don’t know, i thought you’d be mad with me because of this.” the pink haired woman sighed, shaking her head. it was a relief that he wasn’t angry at her, definitely made her feel way better just hearing it. “i love you too, phil, so so much.” she smiled softly, nodding her head as she continued. “i know this is a mess and i don’t know what’s gonna happen next but i was really scared you would leave. and i… i couldn’t take that. i don’t ever want to lose you. … you mean too much to me.”

“yes, yes i am …” dakota sighed, finally starting to breathe more and fighting the tears. her body was slowly stopping the shaking. following his advice, she started to calm down slowly and nodded her head. then she looked up at him again, wiping the tears off her face with her palms. “okay.” she breathed out quietly. “a-are you mad at me?” she asked, her voice still shaky and not strong enough. she was worried he would blame her for ruining his life. funny how her career was in danger but all she really cared about was him and his feelings. if there was one thing she knew for sure, she didn’t want to lose him over this.

her fingers were clenching on his t-shirt as she continued to cry. this was never the plan, she was finally having a great title run and she knew bigger things were awaiting her and her damage ctrl girls. “i don’t know how this could ever be alright. it’s a mes …” she sobbed again. looking up, she shook her head. “why are you sorry ? it’s not like you’re the one to blame, we’re in this together.” she sighed. “how on earth do you want to fix this ?”

“yeah …” cheree blinked, nodding her head. ‘oh my god’ was her first reaction as well. she was frozen as she watched him stare at the pregnancy test, shaking inside as she waited for his next words. then, leaning into his body she shook her head in disagreement. her tears were making his t-shirt wet as she sobbed. “h-how will this be alright ?” she asked. “i don’t even know if you want a kid. … me ? i am in my best years to have a baby but i also am in my best career, finally. … and you’re cm punk, i don’t think i ever imagined you as a dad. i … i don’t know if you feel like it.” it seemed weird … as much as she knew it threathened her career, phil was the one she was really worried about. she didn’t want to lose him and she didn’t know if he would run away or not.

dakota bit her lip as she felt his hand on her hips, knowing she couldn’t escape it anymore. she looked up, trying real hard to stop tears from streaming down her face. she hoped she would be able to lie, but when she looked into his eyes, she knew she didn’t have the power to do it. besides, it involved him as well. “i … uh …” she mumbled. “i think you should sit down for this.” she sighed, took his hand and led him to the bed. when they sat down, she turned to face him again, her face filled with worries. “i don’t know how this happened but …” she reached into her pocket and slowly took out the pregnancy test, giving it to him. “i’ve been nauseous a lot lately, i … i thought it was nerves from work but when i started throwing up …” she blinked her eyes. “god, phil, i’m so sorry ! i know that this isn’t what you imagined or what we are …” tears were streaming down her face by that point, no chance to stop it.

she bit her lip the moment she heard him approach the door. she didn’t realise she was so loud. cheree looked at the door and started shaking, panic completely taking over her mind and body. “damn,” she whispered, looking back into the mirror and taking a deep breath. dakota didn’t know how to deal with it and more importantly, she didn’t know how to tell phil what was happening. the pink haired woman closed her eyes for a little while, trying to relax like she usually did before a show. it worked only a little. so what now ? was she supposed to tell him the truth or would she lie to him ? “uhm, yeah, i’ll be out in a second.” she quickly hid the test in the front pocket of her hoodie, took a deep breath and slowly opened the door. “sorry it took me so long.” the champion only made eye contact with him for a few seconds, it wasn’t in her nature to lie but she wasn’t ready to tell him the news either.

Cheree was in Phil’s bathroom, nervously looking at herself in the big mirror. Her hands were supporting her body, she was leaning against the edge of the sink, her thin fingers hitting the porcelain nervously. How did she get in this mess? She was the WWE tag team women’s champion, she couldn’t afford to lose it… lose everything she worked so hard for. And then there was Phil, who just went through surgery and was sitting in the next room and waiting for her. He didn’t know anything, she had no idea how to tell him something like that. They had deep feelings for each other but they were together for such a short time she didn’t even had a chance to ask if he ever wanted kids. They were the goofy couple, just enjoying everything the world has to offer.

And now she was standing here, waiting for results of this pregnancy test when suddenly, it appeared and it said ‘pregnant’. Cheree was staring at the stick for a solid minute before she she started shaking as she realised what was happening. She was pregnant with Phil. “Oh no.” She sighed, a little louder than she wanted.
