Nervous posting this, but Iām done pretending this isnāt something Iām good at.
If you write horror, satire, scripts, comics, essays, strange little monsters, half-born villains, or ideas sitting in your drafts breathing weird in the cornerā
this is me opening the door.
ARCHIVE_TAG="CONCEPT_SURGERY: VOICE_WORK: STORY_VOLTAGE"
š I DONāT FIX WRITING. I RESTORE THE PULSE.
Let me say the quiet part before somebody in a cardigan tries to sanitize it into a LinkedIn post with dead eyes:
A lot of ideas are not bad.
They are just asleep.
Not dead.
Not hopeless.
Not useless.
Asleep.
Somebody had a great premise, then buried it under polite phrasing.
Somebody had a monster, then forgot to give it a theology.
Somebody had a villain, then made him sound like a disgruntled assistant manager at a haunted Staples.
Somebody had a script, a short story, a comic concept, a YouTube essay, a horror idea, a dark comedy bit, a character, a confession, a whole damn universe in embryoā¦
ā¦and somehow it came out sounding like the Terms & Conditions page got divorced.
That is where I come in.
Not as your schoolteacher.
Not as your grammar priest.
Not as some bloodless consultant whose greatest act of violence was once putting ācircle backā in bold.
No.
I am talking about punch-up.
Concept surgery.
Voice voltage.
Taking the thing that almost works and dragging the buried creature out of it by the ankles.
Because sometimes the idea is there.
It just has no teeth yet.
Sometimes the premise is strong, but the first line is weak.
Sometimes the horror is clever, but not haunting.
Sometimes the satire has a target, but no bullet.
Sometimes the dialogue is technically correct, which is another way of saying spiritually unemployed.
Sometimes the title is so forgettable it should be legally required to wear a name tag.
Sometimes the whole piece has bones, organs, and intentionā¦
ā¦but no pulse.
And brother, sister, beloved ambiguous goblin of the modern feedā
I know pulse.
I know when a line hits.
I know when a premise has stopped being an āideaā and started becoming a problem.
That is the work I want to offer.
Not āeditingā in the boring sense.
Editing is useful. Respect to it.
But I am not here to delicately dust your sentence furniture while your actual concept dies in the corner making dial-up modem noises.
I am here for the deeper wound.
Send me the idea that feels close but not alive.
Send me the character who should be unforgettable but keeps sounding like everybody else.
Send me the horror premise that needs one more obscene little truth under its skin.
Send me the monologue that should make the reader lean forward instead of checking if their air fryer stopped beeping.
Send me the script scene that technically functions but does not leave fingerprints.
Send me the villain speech that needs to stop explaining itself and start smiling in the dark.
Send me the essay opening that has the right thought but the wrong knife.
I am interested in the almost.
The almost brilliant.
The almost disgusting.
The almost hilarious.
The almost mythic.
The almost unforgettable.
That is the sacred territory.
Because āalmostā is where the good stuff is trapped.
A weak idea usually cannot be saved.
But an almost-great idea?
That thing is screaming behind drywall.
You just need somebody rude enough to hear it.
That is what I do well.
I find the hidden angle.
I sharpen the title.
I make the first line mean business.
I give the monster a reason to exist.
I make the joke hit harder.
I make the voice sound less like a committee of frightened interns.
I look at the soft little polite version of the piece and ask:
āWhere is the real thing hiding?ā
Then I go get it.
And yes, this is me stepping out a little more publicly with it.
Because I have spent enough time proving to myself that this is not a fluke.
I can look at a dead premise and find the nerve.
I can look at a half-formed concept and feel where the electricity should go.
I can look at a sentence and know when it is wearing another sentenceās clothes.
I can look at a story and tell when the writer is protecting the reader from the exact thing the reader came to feel.
That last part matters.
A lot of writing fails because the writer flinches.
They walk the reader to the edge, then offer them a juice box and a safety pamphlet.
No.
Push the door open.
Let the room smell wrong.
Let the character say the thing people pretend not to know.
Let the premise finish the threat it started.
Let the reader feel the floor tilt.
That does not mean louder.
Loud is cheap.
Anybody can smash a keyboard and call it āraw.ā
I am talking about precision.
The right ugly word.
The right funny turn.
The right cold image.
The right title that makes someone stop scrolling like their thumb just hit a tripwire.
The right final line that leaves the reader sitting there like:
āWell. Damn.ā
That is the craft.
That is the service.
So here it is plainly:
If you are a writer, filmmaker, comic creator, essayist, horror freak, indie storyteller, video creator, worldbuilder, or brave lunatic with an idea that needs more blood in itā
I can help punch it up.
Titles.
Hooks.
Premises.
Villains.
Monster logic.
Dark comedy.
Dialogue.
Narrator voice.
Scene energy.
Essay openings.
Character concepts.
Short-form social copy.
That strange little thing you cannot explain but know is not working yet.
I am not promising magic.
Magic is what people sell when they have no process and too much Canva.
I am offering taste, pressure, rhythm, and a very specific willingness to tell the truth before the truth gets domesticated.
Your idea does not need to sound more āprofessional.ā
It needs to sound more alive.
Professional is fine.
Alive gets remembered.
So if you have something sitting in your drafts like a body under a sheet, send it.
If your concept has potential but no voltage, send it.
If your villain sounds like he files quarterly reports, send it.
If your title is weak enough to get bullied by a fortune cookie, send it.
If your opening line politely knocks when it should kick the door off the hinges, send it.
I want the weird stuff.
The almost stuff.
The too-dark stuff.
The funny-but-not-funny stuff.
The āI think thereās something here but I canāt quite make it breatheā stuff.
That is where I live.
That is where the good work starts.
And if this speaks to you, reblog it.
Not as charity.
As a signal flare.
Somebody on your dash has a story, a script, a comic, a video, a character, or a strange little monster in their notes app that needs somebody to walk into the basement with a flashlight and no adult supervision.
Send them here.
I am opening the door.
Letās see what crawls in.

I have said it on the Discord, but I shall say it again here.
Thank you @the-most-humble-blog for helping me just last night. It was just a little blurb, more of a writing practice than tied into anything. But I pulled back at the end, feeling embarrassed just for writing and doubting even as I was rushing it to its end.
Anyways, I posted it and Humble hit me with a truth bomb. Wasn't demeaning. Was not putting down my writing or my style or idea. But he did point out where it was noticeable where I didn't commit. And while I was working on it the feedback again wasn't given in a way that caused me to further doubt myself. I got to work and just bled on the page. And it truly did help it.
I reblog to give my testimony.
Iām late catching this properly, but this meant more than you probably know.
This is exactly what I mean by punch-up.
Not taking someoneās voice away.
Not standing over their shoulder with a ruler and acting like creativity is a school uniform.
Just seeing where the piece flinched.
Seeing where the writer had something alive on the page, then pulled back right before the cut went deep enough.
That is the work.
Sometimes the best help is not rewriting someone into you.
Sometimes it is pointing at the place where their own voice got scared and saying:
āRight there. Donāt run from that. Thatās where the blood is.ā
So thank you for saying this publicly.
Because this is the part of the process people do not always see:
the moment another writer feels seen instead of corrected.
That matters.

THEY TOLD ME TO LOVE MY BODY LIKE ITāS A PET I DIDNāT CHOOSE
---
You ever feel like you just canāt get it f*cking right?
No matter how much you lift, how perfect your macros, how hard you flex in the mirror your body just says > āNah.ā > āIām not doing that.ā > āF*ck your vision board.ā
And the selfies? A goddamn zoo exhibit.
One minute Iām level 2 ugly ā the next, Iāve mutated into level 7 blowfish-face. Eyes weird. Chin off. Nose bloated. Skin pale. I literally look like someone hit a puddy with an ugly stick and said, āYeah. Post that.ā
Meanwhile?
Everyone else stays the same. Every damn day. Like their faces are 3D-printed from stability. Like their angles were made in a lab.
And when I ask?
āAm I⦠okay looking?ā They lie. They fcking lie.* Tell me Iām pretty. Say Iām ābeautiful in my own way.ā Like I didnāt just spend an hour trying not to cry at the front-facing camera glitching like my reflection was trying to warn me.
My brother cries too, you know. Literal minotaur without the horns. People tell him to āslow down with the gym.ā They say, āYou're big enough. Relax.ā
And I catch him sobbing behind closed doors because he thinks heās still too small. Too soft. Too worthless.
And me? Sometimes after I throw up a meal because I hated the way my hips looked in my jeans, I pinch the skin under my ribs and think:
> āWhat if I was wrong?ā > āWhat if I bullied my body⦠for no reason?ā > āWhat if it loved me the whole time?ā
Thatās the part that f*cks me up most.
Not the ugly. Not the pain. Not the dysmorphia. But the thought that I was the abuser.
That I screamed at my body, called it disgusting, starved it, ignored its wins, mocked its shape ā while it stood beside me like a loyal mutt I never asked for.
Bleeding for me.
Fighting infections for me.
Digesting pain and swallowing trauma just to keep me breathing long enough to throw another insult at the mirror.
They told me to love my body. I didnāt. Not because I hated it. But because I never understood what it was.
Itās not me. Itās not mine. Itās just a feral thing that followed me home one day and refused to leave.
And now?
It sleeps next to me. Licks my wounds. Stares at me from the bathroom mirror.
And begs me to stop calling it a monster.

BLACKSITE LITERATURE
THE MOON IS MADE OF CHEESE
A Scrolltrap by Mr. Humble
(Yes, Iām serious. No, Iām not joking. Yes, this is happening.)
===
Letās get this out of the way:
š§ The moon is made of cheese.
And you've been lied to your entire life.
Wait...what?
Exactly.
Youāve already rolled your eyes, havenāt you?
Good. Thatās proof the trick worked.
Because the mind protects its delusions faster than it investigates its reality.
===
Letās start with what you *do* believe.
You eat cheese.
A secretion. A congealed rot.
You praise the stink. You swallow the mold.
You let a fungus-ridden secretion from a lactating mammal sit in your fridge and call it āaged.ā
Thatās normal to you.
But the moon being made of cheese is absurd?
Interesting.
===
Now letās try something else.
š The moon controls the tides.
It pulls oceans across continents with invisible fingers.
It influences menstrual cycles.
It triggers madness (the word ālunacyā didnāt invent itself).
Yet it's just a ārockā?
A perfect circle hanging above us for every recorded generation?
A celestial body thatās *just there*, locked in perfect synchronous orbit so we always see the same face?
You believe that?
===
They told you it was created from a collision.
That a Mars-sized object slammed into Earth and left a chunk spinning in the sky like a loyal pet.
A chunk that just so happened to form the exact same apparent size as the sun during an eclipse.
You bought that?
Explain this then:
- The moon rang like a bell when struck during Apollo missions.
- Itās older than Earth according to isotope dating.
- It has no magnetic field, no solid core, and its dust is radioactive.
- Many craters are too shallow for the meteor sizeālike something is beneath them.
- Multiple scientists, including Dr. Gordon MacDonald, suggested the moon might be hollow.
Still with me?
What else floats in space, hollow, unmoving, orbit-locked, and unfathomably old?
*Satellites.*
Now⦠back to cheese.
Why cheese?
Because the myth persisted.
Because thereās always a grain of truth in every lie thatās been passed down as a joke.
Because every child in every culture has heard the story of āthe cow jumping over the moon.ā
Because weāve always known there was something *off* about it.
Because your brain has been trained to dismiss anything that smells like folklore...
even though folklore is the encrypted survival data of your species.
And guess what?
The moon smells like gunpowder.
Like sulfur.
Like *cheese on fire.*
But sure...keep believing itās just a rock.
===
Final question:
Why is the moon always watching?
Why did every ancient civilization assign it gods, demons, eyes?
Why do people see the faces of the dead under it?
Why do children cry louder under full moons?
Why is it the only object in the night sky humans have *never* stopped drawing?
===
It doesnāt matter if the moon is literally made of cheese.
What matters is that I just made you question something youāve believed your entire life using *nothing but rhythm, pressure, and cadence.*
No one else alive can do that to you.
Not like this.
Not in under 500 words.
Not while your brain is begging for a reality check that isnāt coming.
===
Because the point wasnāt the cheese.
The point was the virus.
The idea.
The sleight of mind.
Youāll never look at the moon the same way again.
And thatās my power.
