I just finished putting together Issue 22 of the magazine! Today, just a week before the opening of the third FORGE Currents group show in Seattle, Iām delighted to share with you all a new issue of the magazine! Over the past three months, since putting out Issue 21, Iāve finally gotten back into a routine with things and Iāve been slowly gathering everything for this new issue and the gallery show. I feel so excited about everything Iāve gotten the chance to work on for this year, and it has been an enormous pleasure to work with so many artists for both the issue and the show! This new issue features tons of magnificent submissions by 16 young artists centered around the theme Intimacy, a handful of interviews recorded between last November and this month, and new comics by three of my favorite cartoonists. I hope you all have a fun time flipping through it! :)
FORGE. is a quarterly submission based art magazine, with the sole purpose of showcasing the work of different artists on the internet and around the world. Issue 22: Intimacy includes submissions by Jamie Edler, Genie Liang, Henry McClellan, Julia St.Clair, Jessica Taylor, Kingston Poplar, Lily Cozzens, Anna Vie, Dan Howden, Brianna Rose Brooks, Steve Teare, Sarah Jacobs, Peony Gent, Daryl Rainbow, Olivia Beelby, and Symone Salib. This issue also includes interviews with cartoonist Simon Hanselmann,Ā Eunice Luk of Slow Editions, Clay Hickson & Liana Jegers of The Smudge,Ā and Etta Friedman & Allegra Weingarten of Momma. Issue 22 features comics by Tommi Parrish, Bec Hac, and Tallulah FontaineĀ in its OP-ED section. Lastly, Issue 22 also includes the FORGE. Winter Review, documenting several concerts and events that took place in Los Angeles during the winter of 2019.
