It’s time.

A T T A C K for my friend @hootispootis

I'm sorry Draven fans :( in every piece of media I consume there's always a character that doesn't scratch my brain as much as the others and this time fate has chosen Draven to be left behind T.T how tragic. Truth to be told, I do plan on making a comic about him too talking briefly about his backstory, but I haven't been struck by inspiration yet and also, the people over on Twitter have demanded Arthur, so he's going to appear next.

I could still talk about Draven here, but I have dedicated so little time to him, he's still pretty basic in terms of backstory and personality. So far I have decided he was abandoned as a kitten by his cat mother, and was raised by squirrels. Beanies apprehended him pretty soon after seeing him chirping at squirrels so he could study him better, which in hindsight was actually a good thing for Draven since squirrels don't know much about raising kittens anyway.

In the lab, life sucked, but at least he managed to find a new family. Lucy adopted him (Maisie was busy with her other kittens) so him and Alice grew up together as family. He loves her very much, and is very sad to see her so miserable. Personality wise, to me Draven is the chillest guy ever. He tries his best to not let the horrible reality of the Lab touch him (he really wants to be stoic and cool like Chan Hung) and he to stay happy even in face of adversity, mostly for Alice's sake. He doesn't want her to worry about him, on top of already being super sad about Franklin. Truth to be told, this has gotten really difficult for Draven. Franklin was also his (adopted) dad, so seeing him like this is incredibly painful for him. He'd never let Alice see this side of him, he wants to be strong for her. The only cats who know about his pain are Chan Hung and Stacy, who kind of act as surrogate parents/mentors now that Franklin is out of commission. He also has his bird friends to keep him company and keep him updated on the outside world. He uses his crows to communicate with Fenrir on the outside, like they're carrier pigeons. Draven is actually very important for Fenrir, as he's his direct line with the Lab Cats. Maybe I could spin it that Draven was Fenrir's favourite student, so I can give him another reason to dislike Magnus mhmmmm much to think about.

For some reason Tumblr ate my reply so everything I had written before just vanished into the void. Oh well.

The short answer is: I haven't really thought of giving Magnus and Gein a bio dad. I feel like it's not super important to the story, and besides, being born in the Lab means they were conceived through artificial insemination anyway. Maisie never had a real mate, she just found herself pregnant one day and raised the kittens with the help of the other cats.

Now, since Bobo is also part of her first litter, we could maybe assign Pebbles to the role of bio dad? But it'd still be a placeholder to me. And besides (and it was my friend who told me) cats from the same litter can have different dads! So Pebbles could be only Rocky's father.
