What did Guppy do exactly that warranted his occupation as the guardian of Boon County revoked? İ saw several of your posts talk about Guppy being replaced with Arthur because of something he did but nothing about what he did exactly
Hehe, I'll admit I hint at things without explaining because I hope to pique people's interest :3c please don't be mad.
Anyway, the brief version is that Guppy's position was revoked because he involved himself with Isaac and his family.
Now for the long explanation: GC (the Great Creative, God) had His eye on Boon County for quite a while because Beanies' experiments were kinda fucking with the natural order of things way before Isaac even came into the picture. Stacy, the Original Stacy, had been dead for quite a while, but her immortal soul cannot reach Heaven and be at peace because Beanies doesn't let her die. Moreover, her soul is constantly being split (I imagine all the Stacies share a hivemind, but they can develop different quirks and personalities if they're able to live long enough) which puts it in a very vulnerable position, and makes it a very appetizing target for any demon that might come across her.
GC can't directly intervene to stop Beanies (something something free will) and can't send an angel to stop him either. The only thing He can do is to send an angel to watch over the cats of Boon County and make sure Stacy's soul is at least protected from any more threats. Guppy (Guppiel lol) was the first one sent on Earth with this precise purpose, but things took a turn when he was adopted by the Moriah family.
Since I've never specified how and when they got Guppy, I have decided now that he was a stray that Isaac befriended when he was a baby and that later got adopted by his family, not too long before everything went to shit.
NOW we get into retcon territory. In my original story, Guppy was just a random cat that got outside one time and never went back home. Both Isaac and his mother thought he was dead and I left it at that. Now that the lore got a little spicier, I'm changing it so that Guppy stayed with the Moriah for a while and got attached, especially to Isaac who he could see had a terrible home life and was destined to walk this Earth for many more lifetimes after this one.
Eventually Guppiel had to leave the Moriah household, even if he knew Isaac would be in danger, because that wasn't his purpose and angels shouldn't interfere with human lives anyway. But he always kept a close eye on them, and when Isaac locked himself in that fateful chest, he was the one who freed him.
Now, if you know anything about my Reincarnation AU, in the story it's Eden who storms into the house and saves Isaac from the chest (and calls CPS) but I don't want to completely retcon this either. So I'm making it that Guppy contacted Eden (who's a Cherub, and waaaay more powerful than a mere guardian angel like Guppy) who then saved Isaac and did all that. I hope it's clear? It's a bit convoluted.
Anyway back to Guppy. While God could understand why he did it (and Isaac is also very dear to him), He still couldn't let such a big thing slide. Interfering with a human's life is the Number One Angel Rule, even if it's for a good cause. So Guppy was asked to return to Heaven and not to interfere anymore.
In the meantime, the Stacy situation is worsening by the second! Angels even get wind of Beanies' intentions of building a nuke and sending it to Heaven. Is it true? Is it not? Either way, it's time to send in the big guns, so Arthur is chosen to take Guppy's place. Arthur is a Throne, which is a very high ranking angel, much more powerful than Guppy. While he's supposed to watch over every cat in Boon County, he loves Stacy very much and sees her as his charge to protect directly, even if he shouldn't interfere.
