A mysterious radio broadcast, impossible to trace, has disturbed the airwaves with the presence of the supposed Jigsaw Killer. At times the prose of the speaker seems to alternate, suggesting multiple participants in the production of the messages.
Some believe the volatile broadcast to be a sick joke.
Others believe it to be a social experiment. Perhaps a police set up intended to draw out the true culprit from their covers that have offered them solace for the entirety of the Jigsaw Case.
Yet when these online messages align so well with traps before they transpire, and the cruel mindset behind the crimes, it becomes all too apparent to some how real it is.
Will you tune in?
[The Jigsaw Murders]
The Jigsaw Killer is the moniker assigned to the anonymous culprit that has ended the lives of victims in the most gruesome manners possible. Each victim is one who the Jigsaw Killer believes has taken life for granted, and seeks to change that through testing the victims will to live through macabre and malignant machines, designed to maim and torture.
Instructed by a voice recording of a disguised voice, or a video tape of a small puppet with ruby, spiral painted cheeks, dull black hair, and a tailored suit, participants of these “games” are forced into life or death situations unimaginable to the untainted mind. Those who fail are left with a small article of surface layer flesh missing from some point on the body, in the shape of a jigsaw puzzle piece.
Who has the will to survive? What will be left of them after their rebirth?
-
JIGSAW.
"Most people are so ungrateful to be alive. But not you. Not anymore."
John Kramer lost the gift of life when he developed cancer. Surviving a suicide attempt cemented his belief that all life is sacred, and to act negligently is a disrespect to that honor. Even when grieving his wife’s miscarriage and the decay of their relationship, he still holds steadfast in his violent beliefs.
John is responsible for the engineering of the machinery that is the harbinger of suffering within every trap.
He has taken many apprentices under his wing that he believes require guidance, but have the potential to carry on his work when his life has burnt out.
[John speaks in purple text.]
Apprentices.
Amanda Young.
“Fix me, motherfucker!”
A troubled young woman with a sympathetic heart beneath the layers of fear, desperation, depression, and loneliness that her life has built for her. She was put into a trap by John Kramer, which she survived, and since believes she has been rehabilitated by the near death experience to value her life completely. Taken aback by this change, and given a purpose and somewhere to belong by John Kramer, she will do anything to earn his approval. The concept of life means everything to her, but her emotions cloud her judgement.
[Amanda speaks in red text.]
Mark Hoffman.
“Right now, you’re feeling helpless.”
A detective who has lived a life ravaged by strife and loss, he has clutched onto everything he has ever had with a deathly hold. That, however, did not save his sister from being murdered. He framed the Jigsaw Killer for the murder of his sister's killer, resulting in his eventual recruitment by John Kramer.
He is controlling, with a firm belief in justice. He and Amanda often conflict due to his ruthless treatment of victims.
[Mark speaks in blue text.]
Logan Nelson.
“I speak for the dead.”
A fool who had aimlessly wandered through life. Even after his recruitment from a simple mistake, he is fruitlessly trailing behind John as he attempts to make something of himself. He grasps onto a purpose with a righteous vengeance, perhaps more for his own hollowness than anything else.
[Logan speaks in pink text.]
Lawrence Gordon.
"You are not a victim of this game, you're a part of it!"
A surviving victim from a game of two, Lawrence Gordon was recruited following the conclusion of his game. He is a doctor and a frequent visitor at Jigsaw victim group therapy. He is bound to his apprentice work out of a feeling of responsibility and a desperate attempt to rationalize the trauma he underwent throughout his test. Using his medical knowledge, he assists John Kramer when necessary.
[Lawrence speaks in orange text.]
--
Currently (July-present) in ACT ONE
The test of Lawrence Gordon and Adam Stanheight has concluded and several games have taken place since then. Tensions are building within the police department. Amanda awaits her opportunity to prove herself, while Hoffman's resentment grows as he can only question why John chose her as his successor and not him.
[CLASSIFIED POLICE REPORT]
“Reports of multiple individuals cloaked in black fabrics and pig masks have come from the few surviving Jigsaw victims, as well as seen in CCTV and security camera footage. It is unclear whether these individuals are apprentices to the Jigsaw Killer or are blackmailed into their positions …”
[END OF POLICE REPORT]
[CLASSIFIED POLICE INTERVIEW]
Interview with Amanda Young, surviving victim of the Jigsaw Killer, taking part in what has since been referred to as the “reverse Bear Trap” game.
“He... helped me.”
[END OF POLICE INTERVIEW]
[PRESS STATEMENT FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT]
“Investigation on the Jigsaw Killer is ongoing, having been halted by repeated casualties on our force in the past, with utmost respect to the fallen. Reinforcements have been made and additional forces are pending. We urge you to have trust in our department, and exert as much caution as possible—“

5 - Tanner Grayton. Not sure if he even counts because I don't even know if this guy is licensed at all.
4 - Jonathan Crane. The dude is wild. Who does fear experiments on their own students and patients?
3 - D.A Sinclair. I know what he did is technically a conspiracy but I believe it.
2 - Herbert West. He's fun.
1 - You guys, obviously!
[The provided list made Lawrence want to lecture on and on about the integrity of the medical field, but quickly found he'd be quite the hypocrite, and allowed the arguments to die on his tongue. John, however, had no such hesitation.]
An interesting line up of individuals. Medical malpractice is a behavior one typically does not take favorites of the participants of. That being said, ill behaviors can be used for ethical purposes. Yet you've provided very few examples of such.
The slim competition, [John's statement was painted in sarcasm,] you've provided is hardly worthy of comparison to us and our purpose.
Tanner Grayton, the psychopathic home invader that kills without hesitation for a meaningless pursuit is the kind that I despise.
He hardly even does any surgeries, from what I've heard... He just-- stabs chemicals into people like some klutz! Does he even measure his dosages?
[Lawrence's judging complaints that he simply couldn't contain were still heard a distance away from the microphone. He greatly disliked being compared to someone he deemed as irresponsible.]
Jonathan Crane, on the other hand, is a talented individual. He has proved himself as such on several occasions. Yet he wastes that talent away on deductions that bring nothing but hollow struggle. He does not use the power of fear to teach, but to torture. In my eyes, he lacks a necessary direction. Until then, his work is in vain.
Sinclair has been missing since the incident on his college campus. He selected lackluster participants for his work and it was evident when it came time to test the value of said work. No good came from what he's done, as far as we know. He is irrelavent.
Herbert West is a college student who's yet to do much with his education but disturb hospital staff and develop a long list of transfers. Tsk tsk tsk... disappointing.
So, if one were to have a preferred alternative provider of medical procedures, it's very clear that we are nothing but the best. Even if the competition you've provided makes us appear as a diamond among slop.
[Steven. The answer was as easily identifiable as a stain on white cloth. He was nearly the only other agent of their ideology who was affectionate with her. It was embarrassing to have that behavior put on display when she wanted nothing more than for her and her work to be taken seriously.]
Nope. Not me. Never seen this picture in my life. Must be someone else.
[Amanda made a point of ending the broadcast just as quickly as it began.]
[Hoffman only bothered to answer the question because it irritated him.]
What are we, five? What a ridiculously pointless question. You should be ashamed of wasting my time.
There's no significant difference, even if you somehow find yourself consuming those products beyond your 12th birthday.
[Despite his lack of mentioning it, Hoffman had started drinking orange juice after he decided to stay sober for an extended period. Since he had gotten a better grip on his habits, he stopped having to substitute at all. Perhaps he still held a negative association with the drink, or perhaps he was just bothered by what he deemed a useless question. Regardless, he was as bitter as he tended to always be.]
Where do you even get the money for these crazy things in THIS economy?
[Amanda chuckled, amused by the question.]
Wouldn't you like to know? That's a secret better kept quiet. You really do have to get creative, these days... But trust me, we get by.
[She figured it was better to keep those portions of their work entirely private. She wasn't one to risk the security of her work. Her sense of responsibility towards it was impossible to ignore in favor of anything else.]

[Lawrence felt a heavy burden be lifted from his shoulders at the change of subject. Perhaps Finn was equally as uncomfortable with the topic as he was. He settled on giving a simple but honest answer. He owed her at least some honesty, he supposed, if he owed her anything at all.]
I like getting smoothies.
[He murmured before leaving the room to compose himself properly. John watched him leave but didn't stop him. He sighed slightly before responding.]
I always enjoy... strawberries. Simple commodities. Anything is a privilege.
[The question laid dormant for a period before Amanda, Mark, and Logan returned from a business proceeding. It was the typical pick-up of supplies with Hoffman and Amanda handling transportation while Logan drove the vehicle and checked the authenticity of certain items. Amanda was exhausted by the endeavor and the question, although from someone she wasn't very fond of, relaxed her a bit.]
I'd kill for cheese cake right now...
[Mark scoffed lightly and wanted to refuse to answer such an irrelevant question.]
Cheese cake is just a worse version of any pie.
Like what?
...Pumpkin.
[He indirectly answered the question regardless, if only for the sake of voicing his disagreement with Amanda.]
Eh... never was big on desserts... I like burgers, though.
[Logan explained with a shrug. He truly only ate when he remembered to, and thus ended up mostly eating whatever he cooked his daughter. Favorites tended to be beyond him.]
[The tension in the room seemed to lessen with the introduction of a lighter topic of discussion than the man Amanda had to put down like a sick dog and Gordon himself had failed to keep his promise to.]
He didn't do anything to deserve what he got and I'm sure more than one of you knows it
- 🐷
[Gordon was rarely present during Jigsaw's criminal operations, only ever showing face to perform medical procedures on victims. However, John had been struggling with his health in ways that required medical care beyond what Amanda, as his caretaker, could provide. Thus, Gordon had been overseeing him for the past few days and was indeed in attendance to hear the jab.]
[John glanced at Gordon to gauge his reaction. He had always suspected Gordon to be more influenced by what he deemed as Adam's failure, despite Gordon's resistance to discussing the topic. Gordon remained composed, but the way his shoulders tensed was indicative of his discomfort.]
What happened to Adam was as simple as any other terminal diagnosis...
[He sounded more sure of it than he was. Lawrence was making the statement more to himself than to Finn, as if he repeated it enough, he'd come to never hesitate to believe it.]
Inevitable... predetermined... it's... the fault of one's nature...
[He poorly attempted to absolve himself of responsibility before the burden of it could suffocate him.]
He was destined to die because he did not have the will to live. And if you can not understand that, perhaps you didn't know him as well as you thought.
[His irritation grew in tandem with his doubts, ending the transmission before John could say something more, wishing for the discussion to be over.
It's pretty obvious you guys have a doctor in your group. Do you take surgery requests? As long as we don't have to do one of your torture traps first.
[The ghost of fatherly instincts reflexively took hold, persuading Gordon to answer the question, if only to scold the individual on the other side of the broadcast.]
Seeking surgical procedures from an unverified doctor is highly illegal, and quite frankly, dangerous! Seeking such services comes with an extreme amount of risk.
Any surgeon you find will have been put out of their practice for a reason, you know. And quite often that reason is one that would dissuade you from wanting to put your life in their hands.
[His lecture concluded with a dissatisfied huff, appalled that the question had even reached him. Logan took his silence as an opportunity to contribute to the answer.]
Sometimes, though, certain results are worth a bit of risk. If it'll help you truly live. However, you need to be careful who you trust.
As for asking for us specifically... our schedules are booked, you could say. We don't take requests.
I am very grateful for my rabbit. Was grateful for Stanheight before he disappeared. The leg? Not so much.
Autumn is coming up yeah.
- 🐷
[Ooc: itty-bitty lore drop there lol]
[Two things Jigsaw had taken from Finn, so graciously laid out before them both, and yet it hardly disturbed John.]
Adam.
[John repeated the name with a thin veil of disappointment.]
What a pitiful thing.
See, you have succeeded where he failed. That is something to be proud of. You ought to enjoy the coming autumn we have discussed on his behalf, as he failed to earn it for himself.

[Amanda was quick to accept the question. The subject was important to her, as a lesbian herself and as a friend to many other queer people.]
Yeah!
[Only then did she realize why someone might be asking the Jigsaw Killer Broadcast about such a topic.]
Do you have a problem with it, asshole?
[She snapped harshly but paused as she realized she may be drawing conclusions to soon.]
Sorry. I shouldn't assume.
I just can't believe it's 2005 and people are still against it.
I mean, getting proper social equality wouldn't stop at achieving marriage equality, but it would be a step in the right direction.
Life is too short to deny yourself love because of a trivial matter. To answer your question, queer love is just as deserving at being honored in matrimony as the love between those of opposing genders.
[At both Amanda and John responding, and the topic being one that Hoffman deemed important, he decided to contribute an answer.]
...Yes.
[Hoffman, ever the man of few words.]
Obviously. Because you and your buddy are getting married in August, right?
[Amanda loved to tease Hoffman about his attachment to a man he lied to more often than not. Hoffman respected Detective Rigg and spoke very highly of him, which was more than he did most other people.]
Fuck off.
[Amanda laughed in response before the broadcast concluded.]
Haha, very funny. You and I both know that strolls are mostly out of the question for me
- 🐷
Take a cart ride, then. There is much to do and letting yourself be stopped would be a mistake. Do not be ungrateful for what you still have. Autumn is coming up, isn't it?
[The difference didn't matter to John. He had grown so fixated on what he knew was slipping from his fingers, the thought of someone not feeling identically insulted him. He was so consumed with his obsession he hardly considered everything he had ruined for his victims in the "new life" he had given them.]
"Just get through this and then
You'll get your pay
Unless this graveyard shift should put
You in your grave
After hours we both know what's goin' down
Can you make it all the
Way till 6AM rolls around?"
Is it pleasant to hear from me? Your apprentices think not.
Spring is nice, the season where everything starts anew. Almost like a rebirth if you will. I do prefer autumn though
I believe most baby animals are born in spring
- 🐷
[John frowned as he recalled the last interaction Finn had brought.]
You tend to be pleasant. What you bring often may not be.
[He huffed softly as he chose to focus on his favored of the mentioned topics.]
See, it is true that most baby animals are born in spring. After all, it's the conclusion of hibernation, the weather is at its fairest, and resources are most accessible. However, I take the most note of birds specifically because of most common animals, they are the loudest to me. They chirp so consistently from the moment they hatch, although it may take weeks for them to sing.
A wonderful nest of newborn birds hatched at a park I used to frequent. The mother was an elegant, red cardinal. Seeing them grow was a privilege.
[John rarely could indulge in long walks as his strength had diminished with his health, but he always made time for shorter strolls.]
If autumn is the season you most enjoy, I suggest taking time to focus on it. Leisurely strolls and what have you.

Since you guys are all about "appreciating life," do you have any hobbies you enjoy in your life OUTSIDE of putting people in murder torture traps?
[Amanda couldn't help but roll her eyes at the sarcasm-laced appositive for their traps, but found herself interested in responding regardless.]
I can play the electric guitar. I had my own a while back, and I could play so many MCR songs on it.
[Her excitement at mentioning the talent lapsed.]
But I sold it...
[Amanda's expression soured as she recalled why she had sold the instrument at all, despite loving it so dearly. She had initially purchased the thing in her teen years and it had comforted her more than any person had. Despite that, she still boiled it down into drug money that had withered into nothing by the end of the night.]
I'm trying to find an opportunity to buy it back from the guy I sold it to, or maybe even get a whole new one.
[She briefly mused if she should leave the question open to Hoffman, as he was due to return later that night, but he had been very ill-tempered as of recent, and perhaps the question would provoke him once more. After all, she recalled it being mentioned offhandedly that before Mark was recruited, his only hobby was getting drunk out of his mind and working nonstop.]
[John hummed as he decided on a suitable answer.]
I appreciate the value of artistry. It's an enjoyable way to pass time.
[ John enjoys the simplicity of the question that leaves room to appreciate the topic. He ensured to bestow an equal amount of rumination within his answer. ]
It's pleasant to hear from you.
The question evokes a feeling of peace and tranquility that I resonate with. There is something to appreciate about in all seasons. I most favor the conditions of spring.
The gentle breeze is refreshing, and it feels like the Earth is breathing with the blossom of the flowers. The days grow longer than any other season, too. There's plenty to enjoy.
Did you know Spring is when most birds are born? It's true.
