The pigeon grinned a beak full of dog’s teeth. “Ha. They say there aren’t. They even kept most of them out for a while.”

“How did you make it?”

“By being smart. By hiding.”

She gave the one-legged, feral feathered thing a sideways look. “As a pigeon?”

“Sometimes,” said the pigeon. “Sometimes I’m graffiti on a wall. Sometimes I’m a coin dropped in a beggar’s hand. I am neon at night, the rain in the light. I am the song the busker sings. I listen to the prayers of those who come to the city with big dreams.”

“And in return?”

It grinned again. Steam rolled off its feathers, smelling of cigarettes. “I eat their despair.”

“That’s cruel.”

His face was distorted with rage and surprise, still barely taking in what they did to him.

[he flinched, turning around quickly.]

"I-...ᴱᶻʳᵃ?!⁻"

[his eyes widened, stance froze, hands behind his back shaking. He couldnt think of how to explain- all he knew is that maybe he'll be forgiven?..... fat chance he wont.]

"เ-..ᵢ ₛ..ₛₜₐbbₑd yₒᵤ ₕₒw₋"

[he stopped himself from finishing that sentence, guilty and feared expression on his face. Don't even mention or hell even remember he stabbed him, he thought to himself. he muttered a small "i'm so sorry"]

Ezra grabbed pigeon by his crevat and pulled him close to his face, the blue light bouncing off of Pigeon's fur.

AREN'T YOU? YOU PIECE OF SHIT!

He let go of you again, his hands aching.

I loved you. I gave you my world, and this is what I get in return.

Ezra took a wobbly step back and brought a hand to his forehead, clearly immensely distraught.

he paused, breathless. He clammered for the stab wound that hadn't quite healed over fully yet, trying to cradle his injuries.

[he paused, not even realizing what he wanted, what he was searching for forgiveness, he never realized, that it...hurt, others. his selfish ass, didnt even think of all the cons.]

"ᵢ₋…..wₐₛ ₚᵣₒₘᵢₛₑd ᵢ cₒᵤₗd..bᵣᵢₙg bₐcₖ ₐ ₛₒₘₑₒₙₑ bᵤₜ ₒbᵥᵢₒᵤₛₗy..ᵢₜ wₐₛ ₐ ₗᵢₑ."

[he guiltily looked up at Ezra, eyes half lidded, not even trying to stay open. he knew that he wouldn't be forgiven, for sure. he shouldn't even try anymore]

Ezra begrudgingly took another pained step towards you, groaning with every movement from the pain.

Why did you let him win.

He slumped his body against yours, smothering his face into your shoulder and using your body as a crutch. They lifted their head to speak to you.

Why did you let his words get to you...?

...you didn't deserve to be manipulated in such ways...

He paused before sighing and resting his head on your shoulder again.

[he stayed silent the whole time, looking down the whole time, contemplating and rethinking all decisions he ever made- occasionally looking up to make sure they were going the right way]

A blue figure with a star for a head was...painted on the wall? No, it wasn't painted.. you wouldn't have painted something like that. It was ugly and a disgusting shade of blue, nearly the exact same as Ezra's blood.

All of a sudden, the figure moved. It bounced to the other wall next to you and...laughed.

Eliza certainly wasn't gone for long.

Ezra tilted up his head and spoke through pained wheezes.

Pigeon, darling, can you stitch wounds by any chance...?

He slumped back into the chair and slinked down so his coat and shirt got all bunged up, gathering around his shoulders, revealing his bruised stomach.

Don't worry, monkshood, he can't see me right now.

"ᵢ ₜₕₒᵤgₕₜ yₒᵤ wₑᵣₑ gₒₙₑ.."

'Course I'm not gone! I won't even be gone when you're dead! That purple bitch just stopped from doing a few... things with you, that's all.

Ezra tried his best to tilt up his head, still losing blood slowly.

Who...who are you talking to, darling...?

[he walked back, checking the kit to see if it has everything to use to stitch them up]

[he grabbed a chair, making himself comfortable on it, wings fixing a little since they were in the way. finally, he was about to start stitching it until..]

"cₒᵤₗd yₒᵤ ᵤₕₘ?…"

Ezra reached behind carefully and painfully, and started peeling away his blue stained shirt away from his skin, revealing a large wound, with marks from what looked like a boot left on it.

Ezra winced as he peeled the shirt off of himself.

Can you just try to be gentle...please?

[His breath hitched, swallowing and biting his lip bacto try and not cry at the sight- he stitched in and out, talons bothering him as he does]

Once you were finished, he let a sigh of relief and turned t face you, placing his palms at either side of your face and pulling you close, giving you a gentle peck on the forehead.

Thank you, orion. I'm sorry for getting so hot-headed back there- I forget sometimes that it wasn't your fault. I'm sure you didn't want to stab me, after all.

I know how persuasive he can be sometimes. If he speaks to you again, please, try to ignore him best you can.

A shiver went up your spine as an unnervingly chill breeze suffocated the air around you. A man with a star for a head stood by you now, translucent and blue.

[He smiled, chuckling slightly, but his eyebrow twitched feeling Eliza's cold arm around him.]

[They thought to himself. Lily.. will.. wait for now. He got up calmly, gently placing Ezras hands in his]
