My name is Pie and today we are talking about my most favoritest kindergarten ship!
I really like Lilget for a number of reasons and I will go through those today
I’m gonna link my other Lilget yaps here, here and here (this one’s old) for you all, so if you’ve read these, this might be a bit repetitive
Lilget is a very specific dynamic that my brain just attached to for some reason. I think it’s honestly because they remind me of me and my girlfriend a little bit BUT THATS BESIDES THE POINT
I appreciate that throughout the games it’s consistent, Nugget in every game references his crush on Lily at least once. I will say I feel like kindergarten 1 was the most prominent and 3 is up there too but them preforming Romeo and Juliet was kinda forced onto them.
Like Truss gave examples I’m gonna do that too!
I have talked about this before but if you don’t give Lily the ketchup during Nugget-o and Lily-et Lily straight up refuses to preform and Nugget says this
He’s just trying his best look at him
Nugget also like (tried to) sacrificed himself for her at the end of kindergarten 2???? Like okay I see you gentlemen. And the cheek kiss at the end was the cherry on top! I have seen the argument that it had no romantic intention and it was just a thank you for saving them which could be true. But I can believe whatever I want and so can you
(As much I as I complain about always being Lilget deprived, I’m very happy with the amount of Lilget content (I mean it has the most fics on Ao3 out of every ship) while I am in an actual drought now it’s okay, I can just look at old stuff guys trust. So thanks to all the nice people who have drawn Lilget)
Speaking of fanfics there are a lot of very good Lilget fics on Ao3!! (Including mine, shameless self plug)
I feel like Lily specifically is very easy to mischaracterize so when people do it right my day instantly improves
Most writers are just goated in general so shout out if you write Lilget
I do, #notclickbait, have a Lilget shrine, the people who’ve seen it can vouch for me, it’s beautiful
Ive been building it up for a couple months and wowie I love it. If you’ve ever drawn me Lilget I’ve probably printed it and put it on there
It has a LOT of custom stuff on there because I spare no expense for Lilget 
I also have an album in my camera roll for them

Another thing I love about them is (and I’ve referenced this MANY TIMES) I love how Lily is seen as pretty and determined and strong (which she is) and Nugget is just there
Lily does not need a man…what Nugget? No he’s just there because he can be
And we love him for that 🫶🫶🫶
In my many hours of thinking about Lilget I also have a very well constructed teen and adult version of them in my head, because yes I’m that crazy IF WE COULDN’T TELL

I would like to end my ramble with a few things
I love that me liking Lilget has gotten to the point where
1. my friends automatically associate me with them
And 2. I’ve been referred as the Lilget queen, king, monarch, god, wizard expert, president, etc etc on multiple occasions
I appreciate my mutuals who draw and write me Lilget when I complain when they want to because they love me, and all the kindergarten creators on here, big or small, who have recognize me as someone who loves Lilget

I okay I’m tried idk how much I can type but I love them so FUCKING MUCH.
I really love the way their personalities kind of go together. Austin being such a sweet little thing like fronting as a ‘yeah, whatever’ punk. And Alice appearing as a sweet little thing until she starts handing you knives and shit.
I like how their relationship isn’t really tempered in the way most relationships from other media in the same ‘genre’. IE: Alice’s intelligence regarding her abduction, and her genuinely thinking more before she does things even if they’re not major things. Like picking who could play Kevin for morning time with ALOT of thought process for a 5 year old (but we know this game so I guess it’s not that impressive “>w>) VS Austin being much more impulsive and easily persuaded to do this or that. Austin’s general clumsy shy persona doesn’t really bring down Alice’s persistent one or fuck up her goalsand it’s really refreshing
Enough from a character analysis-y way I just wanna scream about them
THEYRE SO CUTEEEEE
Austin being so ready to throw himself into anything for Alice :( from guarding her from a big ass flying robot that could easily kill him, to spending his last seconds (that would NOT have been his last seconds if he hadn’t made the move) trying to save Alice’s nonchalant ass from a meteor
Also including the way he takes initiative to attack BooBoo (in a failure from Alice’s mission), promptly gets half of his head eaten, and still tries to use his last words to get Kidd to convey his love to Alice
(These aren’t the screenshots from the exact failure I’m talking about but they’re the same dialogue so!)
he’s FIVE and such a little tiny gentleman
Also just the way he speaks about her to others.
“I think we should. Y’know, for Alice?”
“Doing homework isn’t my idea of a good time, but hanging out with Alice is, so I’m alright with it.”
It’s possible I don’t remember more Austin lines off the top of my head. He’s also not obnoxious about his crush on her at all. He doesn’t spring it on and make her uncomfortable, he (mostly) treats her just like a friend(when he’s not actively protecting her from robots and shit) and I think that’s so cute. He plays house with her so casually it genuinely just :((( so CUTE
Also the way he encourages pretty much everything she does , even following her to Regis’ office in the final mission to help her look for HE DOESNT EVEN KNOW!! HE JUST WANTED TO HELP HER THAT BAD.
I hope that across the next games they kind of adapt like Lilget did. Where they went from ‘Yeah Nugget’s…definitely there’ to ‘Nugget you saved us! U get a cheek kiss’ to ‘Nugget is going to be late for his date with the pretty Lily!’
Of course not with the same mindset, but the same relationship/friendship growth :)

Kids
Austin: he’s honestly one of my favorite characters morally speaking. I say this because when he throws a rock at Emmy he actually apologizes. Even if him breaking a window is wrong, all kids do bad things. He’s also just very silly and stupid. Austin is one of the most actual 5 year olds in the kindergarten franchise. My only complaint is he has like 3 personality traits, being punk, rocks, and having a crush on Alice. I’ll go into this with Emmy as well because I feel the kg 3 characters lack some angst but I love them all dearly nonetheless. Austin is definitely up there on my list though, love the little guy!
Emmy: I also really like Emmy, she’s just so sweet and I see a bit of Penny in her. Again, I feel like she’s lacking, she likes plants and…what else? But other than that I absolutely adore how the fandom depicts her!! She, like Austin, has actual 5 year old tendencies like gardening. I feel like she isn’t appreciated enough in fandom, although I do think her mission could have been better, but watching her kill Cindy was fun.
Davey: I really like the development we got to see with Davey and his dad. I honestly didn’t expect him to be the focus of the games but that kinda happened which I’m not mad about. Him and Linda are very cute as well!! I just wish the other characters got as much info as he did. We know a lot about Davey and I’m very happy about that, I just wish it was distributed better. His mission is okay but I really like him in the final one, especially him and Linda!! It just worked very nice in my brain. Overall I like him a lot
Alice: Alice!! She’s one of my favorites from kg 3!! I will say this, I’ve always seen her as an “off brand” Lily. They of course have different personalities but they almost had the same goal. I think she cares more about herself than saving the kids. But that doesn’t really matter because I absolutely LOVE her and Cindy’s dynamic. Her personality is very specific and hard to get right in media but when people do it’s beautiful. So in general I really like her especially her mission, it’s one of my favorites of kindergarten 3.
Kevin: um he’s Kevin? Like what else can I say. He plays house with Alice…and uhhh???? I need more from him 4/10
Adults
Ms. Lovelett: Ms. Lovelett is one of my favorite teachers besides Ms. Applegate (and Bob if he counts) I think that’s just because I’m a theater kid. She’s definitely not a very good person but you gotta have some sympathy for her with the whole Mr. Huxley thing. She’s the other woman and she doesn’t even know it I don’t think. But her murdering kids for theater is not good at all. I find her missions amusing and I absolutely LOVE all her rhymes, she was one of my favorite characters to voice when I played!!
Regis: Regis is very easy to hate. I don’t like him. He’s a very well written villain but I don’t like him because he’s annoying. Like can’t you get your own toilet paper??? Anyway he’s just evil and I don’t like him. Stop torturing kids!!
Mr. Scippio: I almost forgot about him… but I like him!! He drinks and he helps Alice, um, I’m realizing I kinda forgot about the adults. He’s just a crazy guy, I would like to know more about him and Danner’s relationship but other then that he’s like a 5/10
The Nurse: I like the nurse, even if she isn’t the best and she smokes but like at least she’s not trying to actively kill every kid.
Mr. Huxley: I HATE HIM, he’s a bad father, and bad husband, and a bad guy. He has like no positive traits and he just makes me angry
Principle David: he’s also a bad dad, literally saying that he loved Alice more than Davey??? He was the best out of the 3 principals though, and that’s SAYING something
