This is a New York City call to action!
This could be the bus uptown that you definitely donât want to miss.
We are launching the GYDR concept in NYC, working it hard for the next six months and we are looking for people with a little time, a kernel of ambition and a wallet with room to expand. Â We are looking for people who will join us as GYDRs.
We took what we were slowly succeeding at accomplishing, which was a web location that supported travelers looking for a site where they could stash info and organize their travel and expanded it to fill a much talked about need. Custom day tours when they get where they are going.
We took the sharing economy model that has created so much wealth for AirBnB and Uber participants and used it as the organizer for an opportunity for urbanites who wouldnât need a car or a rentable space to participate. A love of NYC, an area of expertise and a smartphone are all you need.
GYDRs can be anyone willing to share knowledge of their home area. Pictoura will be the umbrella under which travelers can search out and hire a GYDR who has something to offer that the traveler is interested in. As a GYDR, you would be contacted when someone was interested in your tour and you can say yes or no at will. No cost to join, no cost to stay signed up, and a helping hand with text and video while we are at the beginning and have staff available to help.
So, what do you think? We are looking for feedback and dialogue about how to make it all work as seamlessly as possible. If you know one of the parks well enough to stroll and talk history, think about setting up a tour. Maybe you worked in one of the museums, or know all about Thai food (yum) or have a thing for graffiti art. Whatever it is, there was $61Million dollars spent by tourists last year in NYC and we want to create an opportunity for interesting, positive people to have a share of that prosperity. Take a look at the site and send along a comment. This is going to be fun.
