Slept in

Took the girls to the ENORMOUS new public library. It was very cool they have this huge picking machine for the books. It was really cool but I did miss browsing through shelves of books and the place smelled like the coffee shop not like aging paper. I’m not complaining but nostalgia demands that I notice and make note.

Came home and took a nap

Got a very decent weinering when I woke up. Then he made me a sandwich

I have a date with a guy I met on Bumble. He seems interesting, but honestly the last few guys I’ve gone out with have been so ho-hum that I’m not sure I even want to bother. Staying home with the boyfriend and watching the next episode of HalfMan is starting to sound better. But I already made the date so I won’t be rude and flake. I’ll keep an open mind.

I was laughing so hard poor Hector couldn’t get his pitch out.

A robin built a nest in our porch swing. We should have babies in a week or so. It was cool to watch her build her nest though our living room window.

And now she’s so used to us she rarely bothers to fly out of her nest when we open the front door. Though when she does she’s sure to scold us for the imposition.

And… POWER WASHER!!!

I sprayed out the bottom of the carpet cleaner that has no way of getting into the crevices when you wipe it out. With a new puppy and an aging, stubborn ass bulldog that we’ve been cleaning up after, the damn thing was becoming more of the source of the smell rather than a solution. Just hope I didn’t get too much water in the motor.

I feel good.

Still, Kevin has my respect. For 4 straight hours he banged on his drums like Animal from the muppets. It was freaking amazing. Poor guy limped off stage though.

I tried to be nice and distract him by offering to share my snack with him. I handed him my unopened package of almonds; he took it from me and put it in his bag. Didn’t say thank you, sighed like I over charged him and turned around.

That and the fucking tapping.

This is the first time we’ve grounded her since she came to live with us in October and she’s apparently never been grounded from her phone before.

Originally she was grounded for 3 days but got caught sneaking her phone and using it anyway so we tacked on another week to be without her phone.

She was trying to figure out how it would work to go play with the her friend without her phone. I told her she’d have to walk her happy hiney over to her house and knock on the door old school style. She looked at me and with the most serious concern said “but what if she can’t hang out?”

So far we’ve had lessons in math and how to add time on a analog clock to time cupcakes as well as a healthy room cleaning!

So Hubby and I are finally making things legal. One benefit to waiting almost seven years to file for divorce after separating is that you obtain pretty healthy sense of humor about things. I wonder if the judge will be as amused as I am. Because I am 100% turning this in.

Girl #1 just wrote a birthday card to her best friend. It’s the cutest.

I can’t help but look at that signature and think about the letter my Angie wrote to me when we were this age. It was the letter I gave to the tattoo artist to put her name on my leg after she died.

I can only hope that these girls have a happy story and way more years to be best friends.
