It's party week. Our annual big house party/concert is on Saturday. Strangely, I feel more calm and prepared than I think I've ever been on a Sunday before. There's still a lot to set up that we can't do until Thursday/Friday. But most of the big projects are done. It feels very weird. Like I'm clearly forgetting something obvious. But maybe being our 6th year and taking notes of what went right and what to improve are finally paying off.
When they're naked at night she whispers to him
I know you can make it alright
But the damage moves in like a ghost from within
And a storm grows behind her sad blue eyes
Apologies for the miserable post.
Let's get one thing straight from the get go
This glimpse of brilliance is better than a long look at mediocrity

do you have any friends that are 4x your age or more?
Do you have any friends that are 4x your age or more?
Yes
No
Yeah, I have a lot of friends that are 192
OK, that's a relief
important reminder that most people you follow online are significantly lamer than you think they are including me. and if you feel insecure comparing yourself to someone online: DON'T. theyre probably also lame and weird. most people on the internet are
reblog if you're also lame and weird.
sex is cool, but have you ever watched someone’s face light up just because they saw you?
Yeah. It's pretty great. But sex is better.
Work needed a head shot. Rare excuse for a selfie.

One thing I forgot about having a job that uses Teams heavily is how important it is to have a mouse jiggler
Really missing my dad lately. I realize that I'm not alone there, especially today. Seemed a little on the nose though that the next episode of my Quantum Leap re-watch was where Sam leaps back into himself in high school and can't save his father from dying.
First Sunday Scaries in a long time. Not a fan.
life is short, send him pictures of your tits
The main problem with starting posts and deleting them is I think I'm sharing, when in actuality, I haven't really shared anything in months.
So, to catch up:
In November, I quit my job to focus full-time on opening my restaurant. Since then, it all fell apart. The building was in worse shape than we thought and one of the contractors that was going to do a lot of the work dropped out on me. The result was that the construction was going to cost more than double what I was anticipating. Not an unfair amount for a restaurant, just more than I have to do it.
So, I had to pivot. The job market isn't great. There weren't a lot of good options out there. Then I heard that my last job before my most recent one was hiring. I wasn't crazy about it at the time. I spent 7 years there mainly because I liked the people and the company. But I applied and I start Monday. A lot has happened to me in the over 3 years since I left. I think I'm in a much better headspace now. I'm glad to have a work from home job that isn't gross every day.
In between, with my business failing before it ever got a chance to start, it's been rough. There's been a lot of nights I couldn't sleep due to anxiety. Not knowing where or what my future should be. Things you shouldn't still have to be figuring out at 48. (spoiler, I think you're still figuring it out long after this.) But as of today, I think I'm in a good place. I'm kind of looking forward to getting back in a rhythm of things. This will allow me to have some clarity on some things. A steady income, a steady schedule that allows me to do things I like to do.
Things aren't great, but they're better.

friend is trying to convince me this is a common experience and I do not believe her, so
Do you expect to be paid back if you pay for something for your friend while you’re hanging out? (I.E. a ride, a meal, a trinket.)
Yes, always
Yes, but only if it’s above a limit of money
No, never
I don’t buy things for my friends.
bald button
For a more illustrative example, say you go to the movies with a friend and you buy them popcorn, do you expect them at some point to send you money back via cash or through an app of some kind? Will you be upset if they don’t?
Imagine how much less shitty things can be if you just talk to people. It doesn't have to be anything big. Just "I'll get the popcorn this time, you can get it next time." And don't count the pennies or wait for the reciprocation. If you don't have the money, which is fine and understandable, just don't get popcorn. Never offer money that you can't afford to not get back.
Obviously it's different if the friend is taking advantage of you. If so they aren't your friend and you should limit your time with them. But the cost of a bucket of popcorn is worth the enjoyment of hanging out with someone you enjoy spending time with.
This tweet never made sense to me, because I would just answer "Yes" to the first question
