They say parents don’t wait for their children, and my dad really ran ahead on his own.

I have so many regrets, and my feelings about my dad are complicated, but I’m grateful for what he gave me that made me who I am today. He used to draw, and he was the one who made it natural for me to grow up around art.

I’m doing better now. We buried his ashes and planted sacred bamboo there with my mom and siblings. It brought some comfort.

I didn’t want to share something like this online at first, but starting to post again like nothing happened would feel very strange to me. And now, I don’t think it’s a bad thing to talk about it sometimes.
