“you’ve  got  to  be  a  tad  bit  more  specific.  what  colour  was  it?  is  it  a  soccer  mom  van?  or  your  secret  uber  van? the van you have to stash bodies in? are you stashing bodies, leon?”

it was the act of eating the peanuts at the bar that had nianzu watching her.  otherwise, he had other things to do and he could pretend that he was thinking about something important, maybe something relating back to his job.  but, he was on two waitlists for new transpo and he had a meeting later on that day.  so, for now, this was where he was.  still, though, he hadn’t ever actually seen anyone eat from one of those bowls.  sure, he’d seen meaty, sweaty hands grip those peanuts but, he wasn’t sure he’d even actually seen anyone put one in their mouth. “i think his name is jin,” nianzu spoke up in an effort to be even remotely helpful then a quick thought was spoke aloud, “or, he was giving someone their order of gin.” he sipped his own drink as he tried to remember what he had actually overheard.  it wasn’t the only conversation that had been going on though and certainly not the most interesting.  “do you want me to get his attention for you ?  i’m much louder.”  plus, his arms were longer.

“jin?  no,  i’m  positive  he’s  carrying  a  gin  and  tonic.  he  ditched  my  scintillating  conversation  for  such  a  menial  task,  his  loss.”  esra  turned  back  towards  nianzu,  she  couldn’t  help  the  mischievous  grin  from  spreading  across  her  lips.  did  she  love  making  it  scene  when  she  was  in  a  mood?  most  definitely,  and  nianzu  was  volunteering  just  that.  “yes,  but  you  can’t  just  yell  for  his  attention,  we’ve  got  to  say  something  better.  play  the  scorned  lover,  or  the  distraught  husband.  something  that  won’t  get  me  banned  again,  i  think  seventh  strike  and  he  might  just  put  out  a  poster  with  my  face  crossed  out.  i  can’t  risk  that,  otherwise  my  alternative  is  having  to  start  going  to  the  spilled  bean  or  something.  it’s  just  so...bright  in  there.”
