MTV used a picture of him as “Ryan Ross” during an interview with The Hush Sound and a ton of news outlets named him as a band member, so I suppose the mixup isn’t unusual.

Daniel Isaac McGuffey, who plays the groom here, was a former intern for director Shane Drake, who said, “I feel bad for Daniel, because now people are constantly stopping him and asking him if he’s in Panic! At The Disco, and he gets all this fan mail written by little girls who think he’s in the band. It really got annoying, and so to get away from it all, he took a job working at the Cheesecake Factory or someplace like that.” McGuffey was a competitor on the fifth season of U.S. MasterChef. (x)

I just really want to emphasize how obsessive the early fandom was over Daniel Isaac lol… like he had tons of legit fangirls and it felt like most of the early talk about the IWSNT video was focused on him. I didn’t add him on myspace, but I still had a vague idea of what he was up to just from other people talking. It sounded like he filmed some music videos and was on that Next dating show during summer 2006? here’s someone’s random screenshot from an episode I never saw:
