The old Chemins de Provence train station in #Nice06

Left this morning around 9:30 and got to Nice around 3:30. On the train down to Nice, between Marseille and Nice I noticed that their vines were starting to have leaves already. Lots of red clay. Got checked in, talked with one of the others in my room, and then set off for the beach. The beach was not what I expected at all: it was mostly giant smooths pebbles rather than sand. Very hard to walk on. Walked along the coast down to the port before going to Chez Pipo to try a socca. The Promenade du Paillon was so cool. Nice has awesome play sets - a lizard jungle gym, whale’s tail and octopus swings and dolphin slides, all sorta of cool animal jungle gyms with a wood finish. And their wooden benches were so comfortable that after having that socca, I didn’t want to get up.

Nice is more than nice.
