(hiatus) rebirth

Finally, the project awaiting might had the answers Jeongmin was looking for so desperately.

The male he got paired up with wasn’t someone he was familiar with, other than having seen him inbetween classes and even on the day he arrived. They had never shared a word that could have been near put the friend zone —and it was all Jeongmin’s fault who had completely lost motivation to make friends. He had observed people arriving on daily basis but it truly never occured to him that he should try and let them pull him out of the deep pit he had fallen into; he watched them interact with people and was completely content with how things had settled down on his side. The fairy had a feeling that this time, he could not shake off the responsibility tossed towards him when his name was called after Yixing’s. After all, needing to do a research together meant putting just the same amount of trust into each other — which could not be reached without feeling up the other’s mindset. This could have been a chance to make friends; something the boy was deeply in need of, though would never admit.

"Hello--" He shifted his eyes from the window he'd been gazing out of to instead focus on his classmate, offering the other what he hoped was a friendly smile. There were a few awkward moments where Yixing suddenly forgot what the fairy was called and thus desperately racked his brain for his name, knowing that people didn't seem to like it very much when he forgot things like that,  and eventually rediscovered 'Jeongmin', and relaxed a little bit. "-- Jeongmin. Hello, Jeongmin."

She wasn’t sure how long she laid there in the dark silence before it got to be too much for her. She had to get up and move, she needed to be doing something anything to take her mind off her dreams. A gentle push and her covers were removed from her body. Rising from the the bed she swung her legs over the edge and slipped her feet into the slippers there. As she turned to grab her jacket her wings brushed the nightstand by her beg knocking a book to the floor and she cringed at the sound waiting with baited breath to see if it would awaken her roommate yet still there was silence from him. Grumbling to herself the dark angel continued gathering the few things she would take with her more carefully this time. It was almost a month she had been back and she still hadn’t quite gotten used to having her wings back nor had she mastered keeping them hidden most of the time when she wasn’t in need of them. 

Ten minutes later and she was slipping out of the dorm room, her fingers against the door to insure that it would close with utmost silence and once shut she let out a soft sigh. What was there to do at this hour? She could slip away off campus and get food, coffee, maybe even liquor but then she would risk running into bad company which she seemed to do every time she departed the gates alone. There was always the common rooms but they would either be eerily silent or full of people studying. “And so the roof it is,” it was the perfect hour to star gaze or to stare at the moon, not to mention she could stretch out her wings and not worry about them being a bother. 

Yet despite that, it was tranquility in its simplest form. And it overtook him for quite some time; consuming his attention and clearing his mind simultaneously in a form of meditation one ought to be hesitant to interrupt. In the end, one wasn't-- and Yixing's concentration was broken and the fire around him flared for just a moment as he attempted to regain his balance and composure and turn around to face whoever it was that had spoken to him; the foreign words flying around his head for a few seconds before he realized what language had been spoken and what she'd actually said to him.

A rather enthusiastic woman was watching him from not too far away, seemingly unfazed by the heat he was radiating and the dead of night that bore down on them like a thick blanket. Yixing ended up staring at the way the strands of her hair shifted in the wind for longer than what was probably acceptable, and once he came to, a slightly apologetic frown crossed his features and he bowed his head.

"L-lizard boy?" he repeated, a laugh seeping slightly into his words.  "Good one."  He had, again, been about to say something, when birdy boy Lay suddenly seemed just as amazed at his own existence as he had been upon seeing the brilliant wings of fire that erupted from the other’s back.  Jaehyo’s smile faltered a little; he didn’t exactly want to break it to the boy that he wasn’t quite what he was expected to be—honestly, judging from the other’s reaction, his abilities and actual relationship to being a dragon were being overestimated and he, from his own experience, knew that it was slightly disappointing to know that someone was not what they’d been expected to be.  Deciding it best to break the news early, he had taken the pause as an opportunity to speak.

He had only just opened his mouth when the aforementioned pile of questions seemed to fall from the sky and smack onto his face, and immediately after hearing the third question he had been unable to suppress his amusement to a manageable level.  Why am I so small? he thought to himself, I’m small! I’m 1.81 meters tall and I’m small.  I don’t know why I’m so sma—did he just ask me if I have a tail? I don’t know buddy, do you see a tail? The temptation to turn around and pat his own butt cheeks to display a glaring lack of such an appendage was so large that he might have really done it had it been someone whose opinion he didn’t see himself caring about in the future.

"Do the humans get angry since you burn down their source of food whenever you eat ddeokbokki? ... Is it worth it?" He mused aloud, taking Jaehyo's answers to heart and squinting as he continued to study the other from head to toe and only stopping when the other managed to subdue his laughter and reply more seriously. (Though Yixing had thought he'd been serious from the start, but no one needed to know that.) "Well, it doesn't really matter how much you still have. I mean, you are still a dragon there, right? In heart." While emphasizing his question by poking Jaehyo's chest, Yixing's smile was brilliant as the other seemed to recognize them as kin or related in some way -- even if it was just through their affinity for the element of fire, knowing someone at least a little bit similar to him was more satisfying than he'd thought it would be.

"If you do not know me," the demon began, a buzzing hum fluttering through the backdrop of a melodious baritone; hollowed orbs gluttonously consuming the attention that the employee had offered them with such direct contact. Obsidian tides rippling like kaleidoscopic fragments dipped in the ink of oil then salvaged by the sun; as his fingertips greeted the leather binding he previously held — the curling motions those appendages made more like niceties now. Subtle indications of his current possessiveness — a gesture he was sure the other could comprehend.

"Then there is no reason to ask about anything in concern for me, because you will not be seeing me again; because you do not know my name, because you do not know me." He breathed then — lips pursed as the air they exuded was curt but frank; condescending in its briefly lived moment as a smirk went on to caress and shape that aforesaid pursing. "All that you do know, is that I am an visitor that wishes to purchase this item from you, because it is your store — a place where customers are supposed to do said purchasing — that offered this book to said customers. You don’t have to interrogate me on irrelevant things — I’m sure that’s not in your job description."

“Of course, everything here is dangerous.” He agreed with a brief puff of pride, perhaps in an attempt to battle the snake curling in his belly the longer he gazed into the man’s eyes. The urge to declare himself as one of the dangers of the store bubbled up within him, but the Phoenix barely managed to hold himself back from such hostility. Yixing had no way of really knowing what the man was capable of and could only judge and draw ill-informed conclusions from the other’s disposition; the undeniably powerful presence and the authority in which the man carried himself, based on misplaced arrogance or justified conceit -- Yixing didn't know. His response would remain the same either way, so in the end he supposed it would not even matter as he, the Phoenix, would always be stronger.

He believed this to be -- knew it to be true in several ways, yet the fact that communication was not one of them became distinctly obvious as the man continued to speak and voice his indignation with words that flew over Yixing's head and confused him. They served their purpose in the end and put him in his place, brought him back down and riled him up simultaneously as their meaning escaped his grasp and his jaw clenched rhythmically in a frustration whose root burned in his one weak spot, so effortlessly utilized by the one before him.

"... Routine question, is all." Yixing offered a light smile lacking enough sincerity to emphasize the small dimple in his cheek as his eyes, narrowed and dark, glared down at the man almost condescendingly as he tilted his head to the side. His voice was smooth as he chose to speak words he fully understood rather than venture into unknown territory to match the other's vocabulary. "Stay calm, sir." His gaze drifted pointedly from the agitated customer down to the object that had caused such a stir on a seemingly normal afternoon -- even if only briefly -- and he carefully dragged his fingers over the rough leather binding in the withdrawal of his hand; his hold over it loosening while the other's remained.

"You sold stranger things?" Minwoo eventually started to say, a sigh escaping him before he even opened his mouth to speak. Lay’s friendship was both a blessing and a curse he found. “I bet you have, but selling charms and magical artifacts is something entirely different from selling these things I think." Minwoo picked up a big pink vibrator, not ashamed or embarrassed to use the thing to point at the different subjects he was speaking about. “The DVD’s are just porn, we have dark angel to vampire porn. Lesbian mermaids, some private dvd’s that are only for sale for foreign customers, becasue there are scenes in it from students of Insolitus and they don’t need to…" he stopped to speak and instead of saying that the students didn’t neded to know they were filmed he said “they don’t need anyone close to know they are secretly into the porn business" 

Minwoo cleared his throat " I could explain you the purpose of all the items, most are just sex toys, you have to put them in some hole and enjoy it. The sex outfits are all for different kinks. Lolita kinks, latex kinks." he pointed out the different things with the big pink thing. “And you have cockrings and double didlo’s The lube’s of course, in different tastes and kinds. The condoms, very important, in different sizes, we have them freeze and fire proof as well." he winked at Lay at that. “And the blood that is really expensive and only sold to high prices." Minwoo sighed, unsure how to explain the other more. “you know what it isn’t that hard, And I will give you a box of stuff to take home to ah… experiment. I would show it all to you myself." he couldn’t help but to touch the beautiful face of Lay, lovingly stroking his cheek and cursing the striking similarity between Lay and Zachary, before continuing “But my fiance would bury me, and you, alive." 

The dildos were easy enough to figure out, and so were the strange costumes, even if neither of the two looked particularly comfortable. Condoms were familiar and lube was something he had to think about for a while, but eventually thought he understood, but the appeal of the blood was something that escaped him. In the end he refrained from inquiring about it, instead staying silent until Minwoo's touch broke his concentration.

"It's okay, I understand." An awkward laugh followed, though the Phoenix leaned into the touch of the demon's hand almost automatically; it felt like an admiring touch, one of appreciation, and he had always liked those. Not being able to have his wings stroked, cleaned and petted anymore had been a great loss for a proud, vain creature such as himself, and while Minwoo waltzed off to prepare a box of goodies for him, Yixing's eyes strayed over the many products in the store and wondered if they could grant him the same gratification.

As soon as the other returned, Yixing reached for the box and took a peek into it, feeling his determination falter slightly at the objects he found within -- ... where was that scandalously large phallic object supposed to go?! -- yet looking up at Minwoo with a big smile. "You are so good to me, Lirimaer." Yixing beamed, momentarily placing his box on a nearby box of blow-up dolls before turning around to pull the demon into a tight embrace, again, much to the storekeeper's amusement.

He was fashionably late, pulling up to where the other was waiting in his beat up yellowing Volkswagen with stickers well past how old the genie actually appeared littering the sides and bumpers - from peace symbols to “Vote Nixon”, a plethora of aged and dated stickers that didn’t generally bode well with Miyavi’s own political views but he felt gave his little buggy character and charm. Regardless of the state of his ride, the genie himself was dressed both eclectic and expensive, swaths of expensive swirling purple kimono fabric tied around his small hips in a fashion of a shirt; small peeks of his tattoo’s coming out between where the fabric met and where it was tied with a belt. His lower half was clad in tight black jeans that left nothing to the imagination and the purple and pink strands that melded with his braids gave the man the illusion that he was not a teacher, but in fact some kind of expensive and exotic dancer - And the fuchsia eyeliner coming away from his eyes didn’t help this appearance.

"Hey Kid!" Miyavi shouted, not noticing the other had ear buds in and waving his arm out the window slightly trying to get the others attention and stopping when he finally figured out what was happenning. "Man!" he scoffed in slight annoyance and got out, standing in front of the other with a single brow raised as he plucked an ear bud right out of his ear to make him listen. "CAN.YOU.HEAR.ME?" he practically shouted at the other, knowing very well he could be heard now, but was just being a smart ass. He thought he was hillarious.

"Evening!" He greeted back, realizing he sounded faintly breathless and belatedly clearing his throat before continuing. "I'm ready. Are my clothes okay?" His casual yet tight light-grey jeans were spared a glance along with his t-shirt -- it said something in English Yixing wouldn't even begin to try to understand, but he liked the colours and had deemed it fitting -- before looking back up at Miyavi. He had made sure his shoes were comfortable, of course, but he wasn't quite sure he had a wardrobe big enough to combine both comfort, style and attractiveness into one outfit; but he'd given it his best.
