Henri stood out in his mind from the party. From what Phoenix could figure out, Angel and Henri were two pop stars of culture. Phoenix was cut off from all that; bring from a remote island and all. He took note that they would be the ones to follow if he were to at least fit in around the school. It came to a relief that he didn’t have to hunt the other down, instead he found Henri in one of his classes.

Since the party and the infirmary, Phoenix had taken a liking to hanging around Angel. He was obviously somebody who was apart of the modern times. His fame seemed to speak to itself as the other students constantly referenced him as a model. If Phoenix was going to be apart of this whole thing, he needed to start looking like a normal personal. Plus, it help that the man was beautiful. 

     “A couple hours? Damn, you are new.” Truth be told, the rest of them hadn’t had much time, either. At least they’d had a few days to adjust before having a party thrown in their honor, though that was probably one of the better welcomes to get. It certainly beat the assembly they’d all been through… Adam had to wonder if Phoenix had been through it, too. Seeing the Oracle and heading to a wild party seemed like a lot to deal with in one day, let alone with the knowledge that had been bestowed upon all of them.

     He watched, slightly amused, as Phoenix started on his plate. It looked good, too, but not quite as good as the man in question. “It means I think you’re definitely hot enough to pull off being Poseidon,” he clarified, unable to keep the smile off his face. Seriously, every time he thought he’d seen the hottest guy this place had to offer, he was being proven wrong. Not that he’d be complaining anytime soon. “I know the feeling. If I hadn’t already eaten way more than I should, I’d still be going at it.”

“Very much so.” He answered. He continued chewing through his food like usual and listening to the other. It was wild for him to be there in that moment. It all felt new and awkward and just a tad bit scary. Though Phoenix would never ad mit to that kind of horror. He kept his eyes on the male across from him. ‘Damn he was fine.’ Phoenix thought. best to keep these details to himself. 

shaking his head, henri corrected him. “i said you don’t strike me as the typical american jock,” the former socialite stated, emphasizing what he meant and grinning shortly after. “like — at all. those muscles and boyish good looks originate somewhere else,” henri remarked, unashamed to flirt with a complete stranger. so when phoenix informed him where he was from, emerald eyes widened slightly in fascination. “finland? that sounds super cool! i’ve always wanted to travel to northern scandinavia.” the country was beautiful judging by the pictures he’s seen on the internet. and the people? well, phoenix spoke for himself. “i was born and raised in beverly hills. and i pretty much made a career from partying. so yes, these types of occasions are the usual for me.” he offered phoenix the platter of various cheeses and fruits in case the blonde wanted any. 

     after hearing phoenix’s words he knew it was his time to shine. without much of a warning, dorian’s throwing one of his arms around the other’s broad shoulders, giving one of them a tentative squeeze. “phoenix, that’s an uncommon name.” now that the formalities were over with, dorian found himself getting familiar with the other almost immediately. vessel of poseidon, a big name compared to his own– but he wasn’t going to let that deter him from making new friends. “lucky you, i’m quite adept with choosing good wine.” starts guiding them both towards the bar, and once there, he doesn’t hesitate to slip behind it to start inspecting the several bottles on display. dorian was met with a multitude of glances and questioning faces– but he didn’t let it deter him from serving phoenix. after choosing a particular bottle, he finds the other a glass and pours one out before sliding it across the counter. “go on– it’s a sweet red wine. easy to drink. most enjoy it, even if they’re not used to drinking wine.” 

“I wish people saw it from the same perspective as you,” Zayn said with a small laugh, although it was more grimacing than anything. “I think they don’t see me as the vessel for Zeus is all. Everyone else is a vessel, but I think some of the satyrs and nymphs and other students think I was only here because of my parents,” he sighed. He gave the other blonde a wider smile when Phoenix said that. “…Thanks. That’s something. Helps that not everyone thinks that about me.” Shaking his head, Zayn tried to clear up the thoughts from his mind. “What classes are you in? Have they given you a lot of work already?”

Of course, Angel had recognized the male as he had been the one pulled away from the feast by the headmaster - no doubt to meet the Oracle. And after conversing with some of the other guys there, he could gather that he was more than likely Poseidon - if only because the guys that had been there longer hadn’t didn’t know him yet. Still, he couldn’t help but note how handsome he was. He still had boyish features to his face, despite being tall and broad, and his uneasiness in being there was so palpable that it was practically endearing. It had him drawn to the male - or maybe that’s because in legend, Aphrodite was born of the sea foam and Poseidon is, of course, the king of the sea.

“No, no… not unless the herring managed to eat a crab or a crawdad, I think I’m okay,” he said with a light chuckle as he began to reach for a piece of the fish, noting the other’s accent. It was obviously not American, or Canadian, so it had him curious about where the male had been from. Somewhere overseas, obviously, but where, exactly? “Ah, so you are the vessel of Poseidon… you were the talk of everyone earlier when the headmaster pulled you away… kind of gathered you were Poseidon but, you know, if you ask me, you’d have been the talk no matter what… You’re really handsome. But I guess that’s to be expected of someone that’s one of the big three,” he said with a light chuckle.

“So, where are you from? I’m trying to place your accent but I can’t quite figure it out… Norway?”

“Most likely not. Though, they do feed on Plankton in their early stages. I doubt that’ll activate any unwanted reactions. Is there another reason why you cannot consume shellfish?” Phoenix answered. It was unlike him to volunteer this information, but something about the other made him want to talk more. Quickly, he channeled some restraint. 

“Oh um...” Of course he was the talk of the party after he was so obviously called out from the head master. However, there was no part of him that felt embarrassed. Maybe it was his pride that blocked him from taking the opinion of others seriously. Well, unless they were putting him in the spot light of course. 

“I have my moments.” Alec said easily enough as he watched the other sit down on the nearest chair. His eyebrow arching slightly as the chair seem to bend under the other muscle but he kept his comments to himself for the moment.  The hunter goddess settled down onto the nearest seat to the other, as he watched the other cut away at the food on his plate.   “ I mean, you’re not wrong there.” Most of the other Gods weren’t exactly sitting in their thrones, more like wandering around enjoying the company and the experience of the party. 

Alec’s flicked up at the other as he gave a warm smile at the others introduction. “Phoenix huh? Pleasure to meet you. “ Though his head turned to glance over at the throne the other pointed too. His eyebrows going up at the realisation of who exactly was meant to be. “ Lord Poseidon? Huh. Look at you. One of the big three.”  He said, little impressed as he sipped at his own drink before lowering it. 

“Artemis. By the way, Goddess of the Hunt.” he clarified with a little simple shrug. Alec knew by this point that she has a God who fit him, between his experiences with the oracle and then his…experiences with other boys here- he knew who he was. 

In the man’s statement, Phoenix felt a bit irritation. With a bit more thought, those thoughts came to comfort instead. As he ripped apart the fried fish, he kept his eyes steadied on the hunter. He listened as he ate apart of the fish he had gotten. 

“Lord Poseidon?” He repeated. There was a ring to it, though he certainly wasn’t used to it yet. Should he be referring to the other’s as lord too? The other male looked fit to be one, that’s for sure. He didn’t know. What really threw him off was when Alec mentioned that he was one of the big three. This was the first time that this thought had even entered his head. “That’s a good thing?” Was the only thing that he could muster. 

     It looked to him that Phoenix was having trouble adjusting, but then, who wasn’t? The situation that all of them had been thrown into was far from normal, and no amount of life experience could have prepared any of them—this was the sort of thing that happened in movies. In real life? Forget it! It was still hard for him to think of it as anything other than a strange dream. “Good to meet you, too,” he replied, smiling warmly. If anything, maybe he could help him relax a little. After all, it was a party! No time to be tense. 

     “New here, huh? That’s cool, when did you ship over?” He hadn’t seen any new faces until now, but he’d been focused on other things since classes had started. It was especially easy to miss given that they weren’t the only people in the school, too—albeit they were generally more human. “Poseidon, huh? Yeah, I can see it,” he continued, nodding. “Right? I haven’t even seen this much in my wildest dreams. It’s crazy what they can do here.”

"I had a couple of hours before the party began in my living quarters.” He explained. Therefore, Phoenix was extremely new. However, as he looked around, his eyes and mind started to adjust properly. It was starting to dawn on him that most of the humans might have had this similar experience. There was some comfort in this thought.

     being this absent around people wasn’t something dorian usually did, but he’d gotten too into his own head that day– the alcohol only seemingly making it worse. when the blonde finally captured his attention, dorian almost shifted completely upon seeing the new face. thought he’d seen most of the other students by now, but seeing phoenix was a nice surprise. “coffee? wouldn’t you rather i show you where the wine is? what good is coffee gonna do you?” takes a sip from his own glass before setting it down on a nearby table, not hesitating in closing the space between them a little more. “haven’t seen you around yet– what’s your name?” he asks, tongue swiping over his bottom lip as he held one hand out for a handshake. “i’m dorian. the pleasure’s all mine, beautiful.” the man hummed.

When the other mentioned wine, Phoenix tilted his head in curiosity. The other had a good point. Why was he looking for the coffee? Perhaps because his full belly was weighing him down. Wine would do the trick correct? “Actually sounds like a better option.” He agreed. “Though, I’m well versed in coffee, not so much wine. Can you walk me through it?” 

simplicity was an unfamiliar concept to henri. he’s always been a huge fan of extravagance and luxury. so meeting somebody from a totally different world than his own was rather interesting. he nodded his head, admittedly intrigued by the new student. his emerald eyes scanned phoenix up and down curiously. perhaps somebody forgot to tell him this was a formal event, judging by how he was the least dressed than the rest of the party. “i’m having a grand time, thank you for asking.” chin resting on his hand, he leaned forward and hummed. “so where are you from? you don’t strike me as the typical american jock.”
