Well, this is up to you. If you have the Philosophy Study Guide, you should decide if you want to read that first, or the Red Mountain novel by Charles Entrekin. If you want to read the novel, you could buy it very inexpensively on Amazon for about $5 discount, as print book, or $2.99 as a Kindle book.

If you have the Philosophy Study Guide and want to get into philosophy discussion right away, that's fine.

Personally, I would suggest that you read Charles' novel, Red Mountain, first, before you read the Philosophy Study Guide, on which the latter is based. It's beautifully written, and also describes the American South of the early Civil Rights era in the later 1950's-early 1960's. If you want both a literary and philosophical experience, then read both works.

If you're in a bit of hurry and you want to deal right away, with various philosophical issues that arise in the course of the novel, then you could go right to the Philosophy Study Guide. 

You could purchase Charles Entrekin's book only Amazon for $2.99 as Kindle book or as a print book, which is currently selling for slightly below $5.00 with free shipping. .
