there’s nothing more romantic than someone choosing to learn you. flipping the pages in your soul delicately and digesting your chapters with an open mind no matter how difficult or uncomfortable some of your moments read, treating each bookmark with no judgment, but pure love.

worst part about getting angry is how much it makes you want to be mean
sorry i said something dickish. a few mildly frustrating things happened to me in succession and it turned me evil
I don't trust anyone who hasn't acknowledged their capacity for evil.
"I'm just a smol bean uwu" No sir, what you are is someone who is so habituated to thinking of yourself as innocent that you will continue to do so even when you're guilty.
To quote Chris Fleming
"You know that thing where the most toxic person you've ever met over-relates to woodland creatures on social media? I call it Vibe Dysphoria. She'll put up a picture of a mouse in a jean jacket with 'It's me.' That is not you. I don't know how you got under the impression that you are a mouse in a jean jacket. You are an eel with a gun.She posts a toad with a basket of mushrooms like 'Me doing my little things.' Oh madam, there is nothing little about your things. You gave me psychosexual issues I'll carry to my watery grave. You are not a toad in the forest...You are a cruel woman who just happens to be small."--Chris Fleming

no rizz. just insane music taste & a peculiar amount of knowledge about very niche topics and historic events
a long time ago i watched a tik tok from an older trans woman, in her 60’s or 70’s. someone had commented on another video of hers asking “why don’t we ever see trans men from your generation? why aren’t they involved in activism?” and her response was “because a lot of them died.” she told stories abt the trans men she knew who committed suicide rather than be married off and forced to live as a woman, or died from medical neglect or botched abortions. “they would be here if they could, but they can’t because the world failed them.”
Not to mention how many trans men died in the aids epidemic 😔 other than Lou Sullivan’s diaries, we have so few primary sources for the experience of trans men in that time period
^ Saw this in the notes and had to reblog it because, while yes, our past can seem really bleak and empty, we're not entirely without any historical sources. I was reading The Stonewall Reader and one of the stories in it came from an interview from this archive:
I've been combing through it for the past few days and it's a gold mine of trans history, for both trans men and women. Our history is out there, it's just no one has ever told us where to look.
(side note: you should all read The Stonewall Reader too. It's a great introduction to queer history because there's such a wide array of sources, and many of them are primary sources that come directly from queer people at the time. There's a free PDF copy on Internet Archive that I'll also link)
And yes, the book also includes stories from trans men :)
