Moving on from 350.org...

Dear Friends,

I’d like to share some bittersweet news: I'm planning on leaving 350.org in early 2016. As a co-founder of the organization, it's taken me a long time to come to this decision, and it's been among the toughest in my life to make. I feel confident that it's the best one for me and the organization.

As we launch into new, exciting and gamechanging campaigns, establish new structures and reinvent ourselves to help make the climate movement even more impactful, I want to make space for the many talented leaders both inside and outside our organization who can take us into this new phase with new energy, new perspectives and new ideas.

In the coming weeks, I'll begin transitioning some of my responsibilities to others on our team. I don’t know what exactly the future holds for me, but I know that my life’s work of fighting for justice will continue in some way, shape, or form.

Lastly, I’d like to extend my gratitude to you -- friends, colleagues and co-conspirators, who have supported and challenged me over the last decade of campaigning. It's been a privilege to work and play with you. Together, we’ve built an incredibly powerful global climate movement that is unstoppable, and for that I (and future generations) will be forever grateful.
