The Headcanons Of The (Tumblr) Phighting Community

Here you can submit any, and I mean any and all headcanons you may have! Your headcanons won’t be rejected at all, (even if I silently disagree with them).

There are, of course, a few rules…

Headcanon Submission Rules:

Obviously, no hateful headcanons, (transphobic ones, homophobic ones, racist ones, etc).

No disgusting ones either. Nobody wants to know what you think a fictional character’s kinks are.

Do not repeatedly submit the same headcanon in hopes of getting it accepted sooner. It’ll be seen when it gets seen.

Do not harass other people for having opposing headcanons. This should be obvious, I hope.

It’s okay to have a debate over a headcanon, just keep it friendly.

Don’t impersonate other anons. I don’t know why I have to say this. It should be obvious.

Graffiti has probably visited Thieves' Rest and offered to do some art, but was subconsciously dismissive of Vinestaff. He wasn't intentionally being rude, I just imagine that his caretakers would've described people with mutations as poor things to be delicate with and he still believes that

It's very biased to horns though, like Vinestaff would be a big threat because her spiky horns can just hook onto another's and keep them up whilst others like Scythe wouldn't have been able to play it.

Slingshot used to be a less than average warrior and Shuriken volunteered as his tutor, causing their young bond. Shuriken was seen as a talented and would become a valuable warrior among the Darkage Clan. Slingshot secretly had some jealousy but was able to suppress it. This constant belief that he was "lesser than" is what caused his now set determination and his perfectionism, a sort of way to tell himself that he's not lesser than anyone.

Slingshot didn't meet Vinestaff by directly following Shuriken into the jungles, but instead was forced by other peers, viewing it as a way of proving himself at the time) Vinestaff helped him find the way out and practically saved his life without realising it. (she had grown indifferent to how dangerous the archipelago was and forgot how life-threatening it could be to someone who hadn't grown up in it) Slingshot frequently helped her by bringing items she otherwise wouldn't have access to.

Katana changed his wardrobe to Thieves' Den clothing not just to fit in but also to leave his previous life behind all the way down to the fabrics he wore. Had he not been in Thieves' Den, he would have a similar clothing style to Scythe (baggy pants, tank top, etc) except more practical for his constant training.

Had Katana met the three whilst they were all younger, he could've been a father figure or maybe an older sibling to them.

I also believe that, had he even taken Vinestaff under his wing, Vinestaff would've become an all-rounder instead of just a support healer. (melee due to intense training with Katana, ranged due to having to maintain distance from bigger enemies like Katana, support bc ✨magic flower power✨)

If they were to be followers, Vinestaff would be Firebrand's. (sunflowers, they both have mutated parts, I headcanon Vinestaff to be fascinated in how other inphernals act like Firebrand) Shuriken would be Darkheart's since I can picture him becoming more malicious + black and green colour schemes. Slingshot would be Windforce's and I refuse to elaborate on this one.

Vinestaff and Scythe have a mutual disguised jealousy. Scythe, having had her home burned to the ground, wished she could be as indifferent towards her home as Vinestaff is. She wishes she could be as calm, as stable, as mature at times, as peaceful, as loved, everything. Vinestaff envies Scythe's prosthetic arm, something that had her cast out the moment she came into existence, was something Scythe could wear as a trophy of pride. She wants to be as accepted, as respected, as guarded, as strong, as loved, all of that. (Heheh, I love parallels)

If you search up "Roblox Orinthian" you'll find a series of both gears and accessories

Integrating them into the phighting universe, I headcanon that the Orinthians are Windforce's own creations, a special division that's basically for her secret missions and are tasked with doing the dirty work that Firebrand would've previously stopped Windforce from doing. They did also help raise Banhammer.

Vinestaff wishes she could be as accepted as Scythe. As proud. As strong. As independent.

Originated from the thought that they both have a unique thing about their arms and, whilst Vinestaff was literally thrown in a jungle for it Scythe is able to run around with it as a trophy

Vinestaff's wooden arm immediately begins to repair itself whenever damaged. Due to this, when she gets injured somewhere else the wood instinctively tries to cover it. It's unable to get past her chin or half of her chest though. She finds it quite annoying. +Bonus bc I love her, but she subconsciously sees herself as a tool and fears that if she's not useful enough Shuriken and Slingshot will leave her too.

Vinestaff's main attacking style is focusing on critical/pressure points since she has arguably the most blunt weapon of all the phighters. She relies on quick movements and confusing opponents.

Shuriken used to feel a strange mix of love and resentment towards Vinestaff. He loves her a lot and is thankful since technically her spawn is what caused his own. But he resents that his whole existence is basically an extension of her own. Had she not had that curse, he's confident that their caretakers wouldn't have bothered with another. (That one theory that Shuriken was their caretakers' Plan B) He's begun to get over it.

Shuriken is very taunting when in a phight, focused on annoying his enemies into making dumb decisions. He also can get too caught up in taunting and cornered though.

Slingshot was one of the worst of his peers, causing Slingshot to train him and the two to become friends. It wasn't that he was bad, he was still very good! But he wasn't the best, and if you're the worst among the best you will only feel like the worst. This is what caused Slingshot's current perfectionism, since he feels like he needs to at least be the best in the stuff that are uniquely him or else he is no longer anything useful.

Slingshot is very much a more hidden kind of Phighter. He doesn't like getting up close, so he'll find perches other can't reach thanks to his boots. He'll usually chip off enemies' health.

Katana can cook on a grill and campfire like an absolute boss. However when he moved to his apartment and tried using the stove Vinestaff, Shuriken and Slingshot heard MANY fire alarms.

Katana tries to lure enemies into dark spaces and take them out one-by-one when outnumbered, using his rope to make it easier to separate groups. It is a technique most warriors of Thieves' Den know.

+ bonus Thieves' Rest: Most of the phighters aren't allowed in Thieves' Rest or just aren't allowed at the same time. Katana sometimes visits for a quick treat since it's basically downstairs and tastes good, he settles disputes when troublesome customers are there.
