sometimes I'll see what other people said about a movie and realize that I have a massively wildly different interpretation from what most people have and then I'll think about it for a second and I'll realize wait I was thinking about it through a dissociative identity disorder point of view

so for a lot of people possession horror is at most metaphorical / allegorical, but is more often than not just imagining a fucked up creepy situation. "Possession" is quite literally part of my daily life so of course I'm going to have a different relationship with it and tend to read it as more literal then people who never experienced it

Honestly I think oftentimes with horror people tend to see whatever they have the most experience with in the narrative. Which isn't a bad thing because it makes it more personally scary to you. But what does become an issue is when someone sees their own experience in horror and decides that that is the objectively correct way to experience the horror.

Though TBH I low-key need another system to talk my system feelings about Obsession with, because I have thoughts I don't really think someone who isn't dissociative identitying it up would get it.
