I see myself in you, and that is why I understand the way you are, and why I see potential in you. Something about your energy draws me to you and makes me feel I can help you. I always attract the same kind of men - insecure, emotionally damaged men whom I feel I can help. And they always end up draining me and hurting me, but I think perhaps this is the dues I pay for everything else that goes right in my life. This is how I contribute to others.
I know what it is like to have walls up like you do, to put up an unauthentic front, to not care or act like you do not care about others... But I think you will find it rewarding to make meaningful connections, which involves allowing yourself to be vulnerable and honest. And I do appreciate the smidgeon of honesty and rawness you showed me. I know it is hard.
Maybe I am wrong to believe in you. Admittedly, I have proven time and time again to be a disappointing judge of character... I simply like to see the good in people. I think, sometimes it takes someone else believing in you for you to start believing in yourself and your capability to be a better person. I thank the people who believed in me...
And I thank you for the reminder to reflect on myself and my own behavior as of late, for the reminder that I need to be better.
