i noticed that the reason i love certain song is not bc of the lyrics (i mean, partly yes), but the instrumentals, the bass, the synths and all that other stuff just elates me, its almost like it speaks to my souls idk

Lately i’ve come to realise just how little african history is taught in schools (at least here in italy), and i felt kinda “ashamed” bc i know so little about my heritage, my country and my continent. Like, if someone were to ask me something historical or geographical about europe or the us, i would probably be able to answer, but if it was abt any african country i would just stay mute. Because aside from the few facts i know abt my country (senegal), i’m literally clueless..

Step by step, this book is helping me discover the story of africa before colonialism. i’m starting to learn abt some of the greatest empires in africa, since the only time i ever heard africa being mentioned at school was in relation to european colonization
