I’ve seen a lot of speculations floating around, and people calling it an Important video. But I worry that people are hyping up into something it might not be, that might result in drama, and people being mad at him. 

So I just wanted to check what he actually said about it in the live show, and here’s what he said:

“there was a video that I was gonna post, because after my meme video, you know I did that “trying to live my truth” video, and I was heading forward with a lot of intent, and then I was gonna make another video, but I thought about it a lot. I probably spend too much time thinking about it. And I’ve now decided, ‘cos there’s a lot of other stuff to do, a lot of tour stuff, I wanna start talking about some other cool things. Uhm, I might upload this video in a couple of months, say, June sometime around my birthday or after. - Nothing to do with my birthday, just a good time, so look forward to whatever that is. “ - Dan

There is no way of knowing what’s it gonna be about, and he didn’t call it an important video, only saying he was heading forward with a lot of intent… which can mean anything. So don’t get carried away and build it up to some big truth reveal, it will only set you up for disappointment.  Also note he said “might” so if it isn’t up on his birthday, don’t freak out about that either.

i havent even looked into it but i highly, highly doubt that theyre gonna use it continuously. reasons to support my argument;

- many people’s devices arent compatible with the app and therefore wont be able to watch

- dan and phil get paid whilst livestreaming and if their numbers drop, they dont get paid as much

- the messages come in extremely slow and would therefore result in lack of fan interactions (which is one of the reasons why they livestream, to connect with us)

- it’s very easy to accidentally start a livestream and im sure they wouldnt want to be fucking around with the app whilst at home and then boom theyre livestreaming them cuddling at 4am

- people on twitter tried to work the app out, and their livestream couldnt support 25 people on a strong wifi connection, so i doubt dnp could livestream to about 8 thousand people from a shitty wifi connection in a hotel room

I have a theory.

Now that YouTube isn’t paying as well anymore, I’ve seen many blogs concerned over Dan and Phil’s financial stability, especially considering the cost of living in London, as well as worry that they won’t be able to afford to buy their forever home.

Now, before I say anything else, I want to iterate that Dan and Phil are very business-smart and have a lot of money saved up from the book, the tour, merch, and yes, YouTube - there’s no need to worry about them ending up homeless.

With that being said, there’s concern that they’ll still be paying rent (probably £6k+/mo) on their duplex while away on tour for 5 months, essentially throwing tens of thousands of pounds down the drain. Surely, they wouldn’t be foolish enough to make such a bad financial choice with all that’s going on? This got me thinking.

What if they’re planning for another move?

Hear me out.

Dan said in a liveshow (4:27) that they had actually moved into the duplex over a month before they published the “We’re moving out” video. This means that it’s likely that their annual ownership will expire sometime right before the tour starts. The significance of this?

This window would be the perfect time for them to move to a new house without anyone knowing and avoid paying a massive sum of empty rent.

Dan and Phil both, especially in the former’s case, have been quite vocal about how much they dislike renting and how it’s a waste of money and time. There is evidence to show that they do not own much of the furniture in the duplex, leading to the conclusion that they do not plan on staying there for long. It goes without saying that they’ve also been saying for years how much they want to get a dog, even to the point of discussing different breeds, but then never going through with an adoption because they can’t - they’re still renting. Clearly, they very much want to get out of renting and buy a proper place.

What does this have to do with what’s going on right now?

Think about it. Last year, for the several months before/during the move, liveshows became more sporadic. They tweeted less and filmed lesser. Videos were filmed days or even weeks ahead of time. Sound familiar? While it’s obvious that the two are preparing for Interactive Introverts at the moment, discarding regular liveshows entirely just for the show, which is likely just in planning at moment, is very strange and suspicious, especially since YouNow is still well-monetized and they’ve heavily expressed how much they enjoy interacting with us live. What if they’re really planning for a move on the side?

It’s logical to buy a house at this time - pay the down payment now and the bulk of the mortgage after completing a nearly sold-out international tour. With the way they’re now referencing getting the deposit back and their obvious rush to get out of renting, it just makes sense.

I’m no psychic or detective, nor do I have a degree in economics, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if this is what the lads are going for.

Before I get into this theory I’d like to apologise first of all because of my inactivity on this blog, I’m not comfortable with sharing the reasons why but I’ll say one thing; things are getting better. I know this doesn’t make up for the lack of content but I’m now going to trying to put up a new theory every Friday from now on, however i’ll need your guys’ help to do this, I’d like it if you could send in topics/theories you would like me to talk about and I will try and talk about them. For the moment there are no rules as to what not to talk about but we’ll see what happens.Except for bedroom/sleeping arrangements (unless anything changes of course) as I believe that this topic has been done to death, but I will link some interesting posts about it here:

The second thing I’d like to apologise for is how rambled these points are - just take a look at my mind map for it:

I have since added to it and now I can’t come to a solid conclusion as to what I think about it so there is probably an equal amount of points both for and against the argument in this list.

As Dan said this isn’t a forever home, which means they don’t plan on being here long which is quite reasonable. As we’ve learnt the wi-fi isn’t ideal and they’re not allowed a dog which is something they desperately want. I can’t picture them staying in this current apartment more than a year, a year that we’re already 6 months into. It would make sense for them to move in April as there are traditionally more buyers in this time, however some people believe that they will be in their new home before the year.

Now it is entirely possible that they have a six month lease but I highly doubt it as they are looking into fixing their wi-fi and they have appear to unpacked (I can’t confirm this as we haven’t been shown the rest of apartment but the boxes from the gaming room have gone)

What happened the last time Dan did a liveshow on his phone? You guessed it, 3 weeks later they announced that they were moving out. They’ve also been incredibly quiet recently (however this could have something to do with the secret project?) as they were when they were moving in April.
