nadia petrova

As we know nadia is the only daughter of katherine pierce. She was taken from katherine at birth and adopted into another family. based on the language she speaks in tvd, some people thought she was adopted into a family from czechoslovakia, which is clearly not bulgaria. So i’m going to keep this as a why to explain why katherine was never able to find her. That when she was adopted it was to a rich/noble family in czechoslovakia meaning there was no way in hell that katherine was going to be able to find her when she came back looking for her.

Also because of being adopted, nadia’s name is from her adopted family. They named her. So her adopted/growing up name was Nadia Vesela. But when she went looking for the truth about her bio family, and found out about her mother and changed her name back to Petrova.

Relating to her human life; Nadia had a good life. She was very very well off. She was a good daughter. She did as she was told and married at 15 when her parents found her a good husband. She went to live with this man. He wasn’t a bad man or anything and maybe he loved Nadia and Nadia is one way loved him, but it wasn’t true or soul making love.

Nadia got pregnant the year after the wedding and had a baby boy. But giving birth left her sick and she spent the next few years in bed. When she got pregnant again, it was accepted that Nadia wouldn’t survive labor. Nadia at the time was having an affair with a vampire maid that was living in the family home, (maybe they were a poly thing with the husband, i’ll leave it open) and Nadia’s husband and her agreed that Nadia should take vampire blood before the birth in case she died. Nadia of course died and was turned into a vampire. She had intended to stay with her family but as a newly turned vampire she attacked her husband and agreed it wasn’t safe to be around her kids. So she left with her sire.

Her family told everyone that she had died, so Nadia could only return for brief moment to see her kids and love them from afar. It was this distance from her own kids and the way it broke her heart that lead her to wonder about her own mother. Wonder how someone could leave their child? This started Nadia’s search for her mother. In which she learnt she was the child of one and only Katherine Pierce. Everything in canon is just as we see it. Nadia wanting her mother but Katherine pushing her away till their deaths.    Nadia did manage to find peace if only slightly because peace will only really be peace if her mother was with her. So she is back and is a little pissed off that it took her death to get her mother to pay attention to her and alot pissed off that in death she had been used to kill her mother. She has been laying low trying to work out how she is back and make sure it sticks.

ex: I like to think that nadia had a lover/fiancee (gender open) or something that she left behind right before going to mystic falls and finding her mother. It would have been the relationship she left to work with the travellers and get to Silas to find Katherine. This relationship would have been cut short by Nadia’s needing to find her mother and there is probably still some feelings there. also just any other lovers over the last 500 years she was alive.
