How could my daddy choke me out during naughty times? 🙈🙈 like what's the most safe way?
Let me be very, very clear about one thing, first:
THERE IS NO SAFE WAY TO CHOKE SOMEONE UNTIL THEY LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS.
Heavy choking, of any kind, is NOT something to jump into. If you want to get into heavy choking here are a few things you need to do:
1. Decide whether you want to indulge in breath play, or blood choking (cutting off circulation).
a. If you decide to go with breath play, please please PLEASE start slow and light. Squeezing someone’s throat to restrict air flow can be VERY dangerous and cause SERIOUS and PERMANENT injury, INCLUDING DEATH. A much safer way (not safe, safER) of practicing breath play is to cover the mouth and/or nose. You don’t get the hands around the throat effect, but if what you’re going after is the effects of loss of air, it does the trick. If you decide to advance to using items to restrict air flow (plastic bags, gas masks, etc) ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have an escape plan at hand. Keep something close at hand to either cut a hole in the item or get it off in a matter of seconds. Using items to restrict air flow can also add a fear factor to your play, which can be fun. NEVER USE ANYTHING THAT MUST BE INSERTED INTO THE MOUTH. It’s very easy to swallow or inhale those items, and that’s a one way ticket to the emergency room, if you’re lucky.
b. If you decide to go the route of blood chokes (not safe, but safER) then you need to do some research on how to properly apply a choke, how long it takes for someone to lose consciousness, what happens when they do, how long it can last, how long is too long, etc. If your goal is a lack of consciousness, WHICH IS NOT RECOMMENDED AND CAN LEAD TO BRAIN INJURY AND DEATH, someone who is present (not the person being choked) should know basic CPR.
If this has made you a little afraid of choking, GOOD. All too often edge play practices are taken far too lightly, and someone gets hurt. Something as simple as pulling hair can lead to injury if the people involved don’t know what they’re doing. Kink, and edge play in particular, is not a game. These things can be very fun, add a new spice to your love life, and even a new aspect to your life in general, but they should be taken very seriously. We see videos and gifs here on Tumblr of choking and it looks amazing and so easy, I know, but there’s much much more to it than it seems.
Please, go slow, learn, ask questions, read tutorials, seek out your local community, and always always always understand that bad things can, and do, happen. I know this wasn’t quite what you wanted to read, but it’s something that needs to be said.
