'It wasn't fair that they were working on bringing everyone besides her back' is what Hinata had reasoned to his friends to convince them to at least try bringing Nanami back. Nanami was a precious friend to all of them who had given her life to make sure that everyone could move on, and it wouldn’t be right to just leave her in the dust while they got everyone else back on their feet.
Some of them weren’t very willing, they wanted Nanami back, sure, but she wouldn’t be the same Nanami they all knew and had spent time with. They figured it was a lost cause, and that he’d only waste time.
Although eventually, he got everyone’s approval, (probably more out of pity than anything) and he was given a tablet that he would alter for Nanami to reside in. They could have easy access to her, and she’d be able to easily get everyone’s attention.
…The thought that she wouldn’t be the same, that she’d forgotten everything they had gone through stung HInata’s heart a bit, but he wouldn’t just give up, he refused to give up. Maybe there was some way that they could restore her to who she used to be? Everyone were able to remember their time in the simulation, why wouldn’t it work the same for her? That’s what Hinata kept telling himself as he quietly continued working.

Once he finished altering the tablet he plugged it into the computer, the tablet screen lit up and pling’ed as it connected. A familiar face appeared on the screen before him and as he recognized who it was his face broke into a smile, his eyes softening a bit.
"Hey! …Can you hear me okay? You should be able to pick up my voice from the mic just fine but- but if I’m too quiet or too loud just tell me and I’ll change it."
He straightened his back and looked down at Nanami, the girl who had appeared on the tablet screen.
"Uh… Sorry it took so long, you… Must have been pretty bored." Did A.I’s get bored? Maybe. There was this one A.I that we’re not gonna talk about who said she got bored a lot, so it could probably happen.
Scanning... Starting up nanami.exe... Resetting... Press ESC to cancel...
The screen flashed bright with a yellowish green, static appearing in front of the brunette for a while. This going on for about 5 seconds before a familiar girl appeared on the tablet. Smiling warmly towards the other.
Ever since that time when she was declared the culprit for Nagito Komaeda's murder, she had silently been watching over the others. Even if she wasn't really there, she could still see them progress and get out of the nightmare Junko Enoshima had made. It wasn't supposed to be like that... But Nanami had always done her best to protect everyone, even if the end it meant she had to give up her own life. Oh well, it was not like she was anything but an A.I. anyway.
After that.. When the simulation had been shut down she had lost the memories she had made together with everyone, but she still remembered her purpose.
..... ........... ..................
She was quiet, standing completely still like a frozen computer program. Doing that for about a minute or so before she finally started to move.
Ah, It's nice to meet you.. Yes, I can hear you.
She once again went silent, taking a bit longer between the words and sentences than a normal person. She had just gotten started up, after all.. There was still a lot of things left for her to learn. That was the point with this kind of A.I., learning and become more like a human being.
Um... Did you want me to introduce myself..? Or did you want to go first? Hm, all right, I got this... I'm Chiaki Nanami. My favorite thing to do is play video games. I'm pretty good at most of the genres, that's why I'm the Ultimate Gamer. ... Who are you? I don't remember you saying your name....
