Rules can be found here. Her bio, which can be found here, is a work in progress! Here is also a loose timeline! If you have questions, feel free to ask <3
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Besides typical vampirism and all that, Marie's backstory does involve SA which is an integral part of her character and directly contributed to the events leading to her turning. I will tag mentions with "tw: sa mention".
Anytime I am referencing Gabrielle, it is always @musecraft. Any involvement of Armand and Lestat is on a case by case basis and I won't force anyone to adhere to my backstory. The Lestat referred to in headcanons etc is typically my own.
AVAILABLE VERSES:
Modern (human)
Modern (vampire)
Newly/recently turned Marie (18th century)
Baldur's Gate 3
These are all works in progress but I have established a general idea of what I'd like to do with her!

Just watched the episode with Armand's backstory and absolutely imagined my baby girl there the whole time. As men go, she had more respect for Armand than most others and wasn't as deeply misandrist during the time she spent with him. I do think as soon as the coven was disbanded, she had no fucking idea what to do with herself and her freedom and was very pleased when Lestat and Gabrielle showed up. Her confident, man hating, lesbian personality fully developed thanks to Gabrielle.

you know you can talk to me about anything, right?
Marie looked back at Nym, over her glass of wine and blinked. That seemed to come out of no where, didn't it? At least, she thought she'd been doing quite a good job of hiding her melancholy. Missing people was always difficult, especially so when you loved them a great deal, but it was the fact of life that sometimes, one must be without. It didn't stop her from feeling as though some part of her was missing, though. Gabrielle was happy, wherever she was, and that was what mattered. Marie was happy too, mostly.
Certainly more happy with Nymeria than she would have been alone. She recovered from the surprise of the question and set her glass down, smiling. She shook her head slightly, curls softly bouncing, lifting her chin, amber eyes on Nymeria. "Of course, Nym. And if it wouldn't simply depress us both to speak of our absent loves, I would talk about it all the time. But tonight we are out to have a good time. No sorrow. Promise?" She reached for one of Nymeria's gloved hands and took it between her own.
βmaybe being a monster was my calling.β β gabrielle
"Maybe it is the calling of all scorned women, hm? The abused and betrayed. To become something else so we might endure and deliver retribution against those who have hurt us, for ourselves and all the women before and after us." Marie smiled, like the thought was comforting. She'd never asked to be made into a vampire but once she had embraced her new nature, she had decided that her new powers meant she would never be hurt by another man again.
And the ones who thought they had gotten away with such things in the mortal world would be held accountable in theirs, reading the minds of the wicked to find the worst. Killing those who deserved it, saving their future victims. If only someone had done that for them. And Gabrielle, oh how she had suffered. Sold off to some awful man, raped, forced into motherhood. If she was a monster, then so was Marie, and she would do monstrous things.
βinstead of being afraid, you could become something to fear.β β gabrielle
Marie looked at Gabrielle with wide amber eyes, and considered her words carefully. They ought not to speak there, but where else was there to go? It had always seemed to Marie that Armand was everywhere, and perhaps he was - there was little loyalty among the coven and if someone was to even think of betraying him or one of the great laws, the consequences would be swift. But was it breaking any laws, really, to consider a life beyond the crypt and the mausoleums and the filthy rags and the wretched grave dirt?
She had served faithfully for decades, never once questioning and she thought, perhaps, that would be her life forever. And then Lestat de Lioncourt showed up and everything that had been, that had once seemed simple, had been thrown into utter chaos and for what? And he'd brought her along. Gabrielle. Beautiful and stoic and very serious, though it wasn't a break from the usual. There was very little laughter in the coven. And now she was suggesting that Marie could be more, have more and it infuriated her that her first instinct was to ask Armand for permission.
She'd run from her maker, to freedom, and here she was again, subjugated. "Would you teach me how?" She knew how to hunt, of course. But there was no joy in it. No pleasure. This was not a life, this was not living. But maybe Gabrielle knew how and maybe they could do it together. Lestat seemed keen to change the way things were, the way they'd always been, keen to liberate like minded vampires. She could be one of them, she thought. She could see herself, for the first time in a long time, doing more than surviving.
Today is the day! It's finally here! I know you've all been waiting and the good news is that I'm omw home and I will be settling in with a coffee and a danish and poking Marie's replies. I might also be brave and reach out to some of you about plotting or writing, but we'll see! Also, Marie was at the concert last night and she said, I quote, "It was fine" which is a glowing review.

THE SOUNDS OF THE BOARDWALK CLUTTERED THE AIR, filling it with salt-water winds and cotton-candy dreams. everything was a bit surreal in santa carla once the sun went down ββ there was the sound of jazz, carried far over the water. an old man with a guitar was down at the other end of the street, playing a staccato rhythm for the night sky. then of course there was star herself, all set up in her little booth; the sign ( which did not look official in any capacity ) simply read " love for $5. "
she hadn't heard marie come up, but it was hard not to notice her when she was there. the hard tips of her acrylics brushed against the other woman's skin when she handed the money over her ββ star thought she was beautiful. her hair fell around her shoulders like some kind of movie star, or botticelli girl. she smiled into the kiss when she leaned down; she stood up, and reached for it as she pulled away.
then she saw her teeth pressed against her lips, and her eyes got bigger. star set her fingertips to her own and watched her walk away.
