The XX - “I See You”
I’ve been listening to the XX from the start. It’s no surprise that I needed to pick this one up. It might be their best album to date. It’s more accessible and positive than some more previous somber albums. I heard there was a deluxe release of this on vinyl, but I’m cool with just getting this. Plus it’s shiny! Neat!
Wolf Alice - “My Love Is Cool”
Great new band I’ve been listening after picking this up from Black Plastic in OTR. It’s a glossy double gatefold 2LP. It was weirdly grammy nominated, which I guess I can see why since there is a lot of great songs on this thing. I like “Freazy”, “You’re A Germ”, and “Moaning Lisa Smile”.
Steve Winwood - “Talking Back To The Night”
Bought this album for the song “Valerie”. It was cheap and used at Shake-It. Wouldn’t have bought it if wasn’t!
Wild Nothing - “Life of Pause”
My friend Ryan Sinclair introduced me to Wild Nothing over 5 years ago. I really enjoyed their 80′s new wave with their brand of indie music. I haven’t listened to them in a long time. Then this album was released and brought me back into the fold. It’s a gorgeous double gatefold that I picked up from Everybody’s Records.

The Wild - “Dreams Are Maps”
Amy Winehouse
My first crazy ass bootleg! I continue to be intrigued by Amy Winehouse but never explored. I found this 2LP “Caribbean Collection” bootleg. It comprises demos and live tracks of originals and covers to the a dancehall/reggae backing band. It’s pretty amazing even if you can’t find any sign of it on the internet. Crazy.
Whitney - “Light Upon The Lake”
I’ve recently come across this band. They’ve got a light hearted indie feel that’s comforted with Chicago soul with a folk approach. The band is composed of ex-members of Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Smith Westerns. The result is truely something special. I’ve been listening to it everywhere I go and at anytime of the day. Signs of a great record. Check out their catchy single “No Woman”.
White Wives - “Happeners”
White Denim - “Stiff”
What a great new rock band I’ve gotten to enjoy in 2016. A texas band that has all the party and blues of the Austin scene. Cool cover too.

White Reaper - “White Reaper Does It Again”
I kept hearing about this band White Reaper. I heard they were putting on great shows in their hometown of nearby Louisville. I’ve missed their shows before. I heard maybe a song or saw a video. Then I saw this album at Black Plastic. I couldn’t resist anymore. The result is a great garage rock record. At times I think he sort of sounds like Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance. Reaper does his solo album better than him.Â
Jack White - “Acoustic Recordings: 1998-2016“
Barrence Whitfield & The Savages - “Dig Thy Savage Soul”
Barrence Whitfield & The Savages - “Under The Savage Sky”
Barrence Whitfield is a pretty wild dude. I had recently been listening to his Savage Soul record that I bought but this was just as good. I’m glad to have found this cheap and used at Shake-It.
Hank Williams Jr. - “Greatest Hits Volume 2″

West Bam - “The Roof is on Fire!“
No idea why I bought this.
The Weeknd - “Starboy”
What a cool cover and a cool album filled with cool songs and cool collaborators. It comes in a cool double gatefold with cool red 2LP vinyl. This dude is just the coolest right now.
