And this is Criminal Law 100, or as I prefer to call it, how to get away with murder.

I understand that artists and critics make a big deal over the Grammys. But when I go to my shows and I’m selling out arenas in London, and when I’m in Australia and Japan, there aren’t any Grammys there. There are human beings who I’ve touched. There are human beings who are inspired by me, who I love dearly. And that’s what my career is based on.

My parents are both very funny but they’re also relatively soft-spoken, normal human beings while I’m just a lunatic. I don’t know where this loud, ballsy, hammy ridiculousness came from. I’m just glad I followed my goals and my parents did too. It’s not like we even had a plan when I dragged my mom to Los Angeles.
