I’ve been doing ✨research✨
I feel like over sharing my issues
anyway im diagnosed with something thats called femoral anteversion . What that is is basically, when in the womb the baby is tightly curled up. Because of that position, the femur is slightly rotated inwards. This is typically corrected though by the time a child reaches 8 or 10ish years old.
this did not happen to me.
so my femurs are rotated inwards, which causes me to have pigeon-toed walking. Or, in simpler terms, when I walk my feet naturally are angled inwards rather than out or straight.
because my femurs are positioned like this when they’re not supposed to at my age, this has began to cause me knee pain and I think the back pain ive been feeling recently. The way my femurs are positioned mean they are also twisted within the socket of my hip, causing the rest of my leg to be a little out of alignment.
On a swing set, when you’re sitting on the swing your kegs and knees probably face forward, right? Well my knees will sort of face each other in this position, also causing my legs to be at an outward angle rather than straight. Yes, this means swinging is a little uncomfortable
because of the strange alignment of my femur and legs, this has also caused the arch, or bridge, of my foot to collapse whilst it was developing.
when born, children dont have the arch in their feet, it’s formed as you grow older. I never got this arch, which puts pressure on the heel of my foot. I have large callouses on both of my feet around the whole area.
on that note, I’ve been researching ways to relieve this pain. Because of the way my femurs are in the hip socket, it forces my pelvis to tilt forward. This tilt forces my lower back into a sharp deep curve , which compresses the joints. This also affects my posture and back, which I have been noticing but never knew was caused by that?? Anyway this tires out my muscles, causing a constant pain in the lower region of my back! Kinda like a hypermobile back, I can’t really crack it (or i shouldn’t be,,,) because that releases tension, except I don’t have enough tension there to support the back so that’s bad.
yes, ive tried to get insoles to support my feet and stop chronic pain. They didn’t fit my shoes at the time, they were too large. Ive also done physical therapy, i guess it did help a bit but I didn’t like the process (bored me to death, had to be persuaded by the doctor with fidget toys and drawing to do anything😭😭)
ive been suggested surgery which I have been disussing a little with my parents.
my research said that compression knees sleeves can help support my knee in a way that can assist with relieving pain for my feet in the mean time! This, paired with the carbon insoles I already have that I borrowed (read: stole) from my amazing mom (who has them because part of her job has traveling shows where she helps convince customers to buy her companies products and how many units they want etc and it helps her feet not tire out). They are only for the heel but they help support my feet.
Anyway now I need to convince my parents to buy these knee sleeves so I get rid of my stupid chronic painnnn or at least minimize it yayyyy
