In-progress Stargate Milky Way gate embroidery project. It'll eventually be a table decoration for my coffee table. The outer diameter is 20 inches, so it should be a 12:1 scale ratio (if my research was right and the gate is 20 feet outer diameter). I was going to simplify the gate symbols (hence the two trial pieces) bc I didn’t think I could do all of it without it looking bad and/or messy but then I switched from three strand embroidery thread to a two strand sewing thread. I found I could do the whole gate no problem so my crafter’s audacity said “go for it, you’re no coward” so I’m in it for the long(er) run now.

I found the reference image on Pinterest (credit is due somewhere but idk where exactly bc of Pinterest is a chronic source gobbler). I sized it up do that the image was 20 inches, used an image splitter to split it in 6 so I could print it. I used a pencil and a flat under light to trace the patter on the right side (bc I couldn’t see it to embroider if it was in the wrong side).

I already know I’m going to hate embroidering the double arches in the final outer ring section.

So, I guess I’ll see ya’ll in 6 to 8 months with the final results

Digital art: Chiss Ascendency clothes

Thalias was the first, followed by Thalias x Samakro, Thrawn and Thrass, and Ar'alani. They were done in May 2025.

The Stybla twins were done in February 2026.

They are heavily inspired by Mongolia's Olympic Team outfits from the past 6 years. As in, I traced out the models with the clothes and then Chiss-ified them.

I borrowed anastasiiaosypova's rank insignias for admiral and midcaptain, as well as the Vigilant's logo. I'll add the link to their post when I dig it back up from my references.

These clothes inspired a fanfic focused on worldbuilding. Specifically about the myriad of artisans needed and how they fit in the Ascendancy.

Also, beware for all my digital art: I do not draw faces if I can get away with it.

Craft Lap table, May 2025. The top is 21 x 12 inches, while the legs are on average 10 inches high (depending on how far out you extend them).

Made from an Ikea breakfast tray (probably bamboo). The hole was cut to fit a 24 x 36 cm (roughly) embroidery frame. The idea was to have something to support the frame that was also movable, so I could embroider outside during the summer. Beforehand, I used either my desk or 4 rolls of paper towels.

The Ikea cutting board (also likely bamboo) was a later addition, which fits perfectly, and now I can use it as a lap table for other things.

Easter Placemats.

English Paper Piecing, using cotton fabrics. 2025-2026

my first EPP project, which took me wayyyy longer than I expected. I started this in November , so almost 6 months of mostly hand seing in an obnoxious pink thread. I barely got it done in time (finished it the day of our easter dinner). I used the Cricut to cut out the hexagons (both paper and fabric ones).

idk how much I like EPP. I don’t think it’ll be a frequent project type for me but I did learn some useful techniques that I’ve already applied to other projects.

Stargate Home symbol embroidery

Thread on aida cloth, made circa 2018

This was my first self drafted embroidery pattern, done almost immediately after the "home sweet home" piece. You can still clearly see the pencil lines where I originally planned to stitch before realizing it was easier to use the holes (I didn't even know what fabrics to use back then). As well as alllll my wonky stitching and letters.

I went back a few years later to bind the edges.

It's still one of my art pieces that brings me the most joy (even if it's usually hidden by things on my desk).

DMC 6 stranded cotton thread on blue linen. Blue ribbon wrapped around an inner hoop of an embroidery frame. The linen is wrapped around a piece of cardboard and secured with a felt backing.

May 2025. I was somewhere between book two and three of the Thrawn Ascendancy trilogy when I made this.

Now that I’m done reposting my work from my main blog, I can start posting new stuff, yay! Apparently I have to shuffle between three different devices bc I don’t keep all of the same photos in one place.
