Identity Artist
I am a creature with many skins.
Within each skin I’m a different thing
What I do need not matter,
I exist in the mind of the onlooker
For who I am is how I am seen
In the visions of what I might be,
In the mind of those who perceive,
Suggestive essence, with that I weave
The shape of a life that I might lead
And all they need to know about me
I wear, like a sleeve.
And for a while I will pretend
And after a while I’ll shed again
And while it fades away I’ll ask:
Where do I start, and where does it end?And then I’ll begin to sew again.
