Turns out I'm as incompetent at language learning as suspected. How many times do you think I will have to repeat each language class to pass?
That terrible feeling of staring at reality and seeing that no, it is just as bad as you were joking it was.
I love languages. I suck at them. It makes me want to give up. Makes me scared. It's not like telling my kid that he had to learn to spell the word "shop" because he already knows what that is and has context. It's one aspect of language and he's not expected to get it perfect all the time. He also has clear direction about how to learn to write/spell and time to practice.
College isn't like that. I'm failing and getting help is scary because I have to face my incompetence every time.
