emotional damage, silliness and a soundtrack that owns my soul I never recovered.

"We call everything on the ice 'love,'" — and from the very first episode, the show never loses sight of this. I come back to YOI again and again because of the immense love and care it has for the characters, the sport, and the story it wants to tell.

I grew up figure skating and hated it, watching YOI was the first time I felt like figure skating was an art performance people loved instead of a chore lol. I also like the characters and find them cute and endearing

I only started to watch YOI end of last year, but then I rewatched it at least 10 times. Yuuri and his feelings of inferiority/resignation at the start resonate with me a lot as a former competitive dancer. Seeing him become more comfortable and confident, and gain someone who he can share his passion with is incredibly comforting.

It's upon watching it that I started to internally re-conciliate with my queerness growing up. I relate a lot to yuuri, I even started figure skating because of it !

I get so emotional while watching it lol (partially due to nostalgia). every time i come back to it i just fall in love with the different characters and their dynamics again

The realism/relatability of the characters and the loving portrayal of Yuuri and Victor's relationship.

The nostalgia of the times we became joyous over each episode; the growth of the characters and their beautiful routines; the unapologetic queerness.

I was a latecomer to the YOI fandom, but I learned so much about myself through these characters that I adore. YOI helped me through my gender journey, and continues to carry such an emotional weight every rewatch.
