WAIT WHAT ABOUT FUCKING ADAM
“poison to fire” (Critical Role) on AO3
post-episode: c02e097 - the fancy and the fooled, possible spoilers // essek didn't account for them. they were idiotic, annoying, but perceptive and kind. he was undeserving. // or, as soon as essek leaves the balleater, he ruminates.
he didn't account for them.
gliding off the gangplank, head low, shoulders slunk, he didn't think they'd notice. the night had always been a shield to him, to disappear into the dark and hide. these colorful group of individuals, sought after between nations, all across the continent, bringing chaos to good will... they were idiotic, annoying, but perceptive and kind.
essek never had friends. he had his work. he had his reputation. the shadowhand required an air of grace and public perception which he didn't have as young as he was; it was earned, had to be reaped. he had to force it, create it, make it all for himself to rise above the expectations set for him in his strive for greatness.
but how far he had sunk to try and reach it.
“what’s in a name?” (Good Omens) on AO3
“what’s in a name,” the actor on stage sighs, “that which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.” he frowns, though understands juliet’s plight exactly. names are more complicated than let on. or, crowley's journey of self-discovery from creation to after the apocalypse-that-wasn't.
they know what they’re supposed to be before they even know themself, before creation, a time before time, when god needed extra hands for her bidding to bring good to the universe. what was good? what was the universe? god did little to answer these questions. instead, god said, life started with the angels. but none of them knew why yet.
there was lucifer first, then michael, then raphael, and gabriel, the archangels of the void. the light from lucifer's wings, and god's guidance, was the first glowing star in their world. it was beautiful, they had overheard michael say once, but they weren't there to see it.
not all angels were created in a single snap of god's will. rather, they appeared together, moment by moment.
god was beautiful, they remember that. they were brought with the rest of the angels into her light, her warmth, and given purpose. none had no reason to disagree with her almighty.
"samael," she spoke to them, "rise."

Gods, David Tennant is still the best Hamlet I've ever seen. Straight into the camera, "Am I a coward?" Your heart just can't not go out for this poor boy.
HELP I'M BEING BULLIED FOR NOT KNOWING THAT ADVENT CALENDARS HAD CHOCOLATE IN THEM
At least that's better then thinking "Advent" stood for "Adventure". I learned that this year. I'm twenty.
Alright, reviving the hype on Malloy Musicals with one sentence.
Anyone want a Moby Dick audio boot from tonight (12/17)?
I'm still just giving this out to anyone who messages me. I know there's a lot of folks who after Great Comet & Ghost Quartet really love Dave's composing and musical style. Moby Dick really shines with that.
Also, happy to let anyone know what I thought about the show privately. I say this because I want people to form their opinion first and mine isn't bad at all. I'm just a theatre student who loves a good discussion.

Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, chapter V.Â
the best time in autumn, just before the leaves fall.
crowley didn't know how they ended up there, but the only thing that mattered right then, was that he was with Aziraphale

“basic human functions” on AO3 (Good Omens)
crowley liked sleeping, loved it, even though he would never admit it. he discovered it in the 19th century, after being summoned without notice to the inner circles of hell for stopping time too frequently. he doesn’t like to think back on it, and even though the scars across his skin have healed, the recollection of them go deeper. if he couldn’t stop time to avoid the displeasure, there had to be a way around it. that’s when he looked at the humans, a bit closer this time, watched them sleep and rise with the sun and moon.
he remembered when they were created. how the clay from her hands seamlessly guided itself into beauty. the first steps, the wide-eyed look at the world they were given. crowley had the same experience. but that was a long time ago.
Ever write out a whole reply when someone asks what you mean, but you don't want to be overwhelming, or too much, so you delete it all and just write nevermind? Yeah, that's me with everything.
Except it stems for the feeling of being totally isolated, ignored, and unappreciated in your friend group.
