When people hate on tsoa for romanticizing Achilles when that’s literally that point. The book is from Patroclus’ POV of course it’s going to make Achilles look like a good person. Patroclus is taking about half of his soul. The novel is about how Patroclus romanticizes Achilles even though he was literally built for war. Patroclus is so blinded by his love that he ignore all that Achilles is or has done wrong. This doesn’t mean that everything Patroclus thinks, is true. Achilles did terrible things but the book isn’t about changing Achilles, it’s about showing how powerful Patroclus and Achilles love was and how it changed their view of each other.

Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them, too—even when you’re in the dark. Even when you’re falling.
