"That’s very kind of you…my twin will find me eventually, and I’m certain he’ll want to leave immediately— until then, the sanctuary is greatly needed, ad greatly appreciated." The Prince bows his head respectfully, smiles kindly— a smile sweet and soft, and while it reaches his eyes, the emerald depths are as sad as ever. And at his words, Subaru laughs.
"It seems the Subaru’s of all worlds are filled with worry for those they care for! Will wonders never cease~?" But his tone is playful. He finishes the chore given to him and raises his attention to the church, taking in all the details, as the match fizzles out into smoke in his hands.
"This place is gorgeous…tell me, if you don’t mind, how did you come to be a priest here?"
♗ -- "Ah yes, that's right!" The priest clasped his hands together. "You of course know someone who looks like me! That's very exciting. Words have reached my ears that those that share my face are not always so nice... But I hope it has a happy ending."
Those emerald depths that matched the boy he knew in this world told a different story. So perhaps not... but he could hope. It was all a matter of faith in the end. And if what he'd heard about the man chasing the vampires was right... well... He simply hoped for the best.
At the inquiry about himself the priest's smile was bright. "Ah. I've been here my whole life. My mother passed away when I was very young. Too young to take care of myself in anyway. So I was taken in here and here I have been. Eventually becoming the priest here. The town has it's troubles but we get by, and me being here is a part of that. Or so I'd like to think. I do what I can. And that's all that can be asked of us in the end."
"Well, if your twin is coming he's more than welcome here too. But while we wait, would you like something to eat? There is always soup available or bread. Ah! Assuming you can eat... I don't particularly know... If you're cold, as the nights are always very chilly, we should have something a bit warmer. A blanket perhaps? Or you can always just sit on the pews and wait, if that's what suits you best..."

♗ -- A little girl all alone? He knelt down before her, offering her a bag of candies. "Are you lost?" he asked, hoping to guide her into the church. It was safer in there, not that this world was dangerous per say. But sometimes monsters showed up and eventually exploded into candy... But if the monsters weren't taken care of it could be quite treacherous. Stars weren't falling so it probably wasn't a huge issue, he'd still have a small child inside. No world was perfect and his was no exception. There were many bad people out there.
"What's your name?" Introductions might help ease her mind. "You can call me Father Seishirou, I'm a priest at this nice church. Wouldn't you like to come inside? It's still quite cold out."

And Subaru does continue the chore gladly, fingers ever careful to avoid the flames and even more careful not to drop a single match. He moves swiftly through the candles, and smiles all the while— oh, he’d seen it. A sincerity in the eyes of this Seishirou, where he had perhaps not noticed the lack thereof in his own hunters eyes many years prior.
He holds this Seishirou to his words— he is honesty. It lights a furnace of hope in him previously entirely dimmed. There is a good Seishirou in at least one world…in every world he’d visited, their fate had been the same.
"I am Subaru Sumeragi, Eldest Prince of the Sumeragi Vampire Clan of Tokyo— It’s been many long years since I last saw my home, but I never forget the cherry trees there, the sea. I met my Seishirou beneath those trees." He smiles all the while, lost in fond memory— but fond memories ever turn dark, and he knows this path. "It did not bode well for my clan— my twin and I are the last left of our people."
And speaking of which, Kamui was surely looking for him…
♗ -- The priest pauses in his lighting of the candles, taking in all this information. Vampires... Can vampires set foot in a church? Obviously they could as there was living proof right here. What about crosses? Holy water? His head spun for a moment while he tried to sort out the technicalities of this strange situation and decided to just let it go. It's not as if there was a manual for what to do with vampires. They certainly weren't in the scripture, just fantasy that people made up. They might not even be bad. Who was to say? And if this vampire could step in here without trouble then he'd allow him here. It was that simple.
"Hm." he finally answered to those words. "I think I've heard of you." he admitted. "Well, not you specifically. I met other travelers who were not happy to see me, simply because they thought I was someone else. And they explained to me the situation." The priest let out a sigh, shaking the match and allowing the flame to die before moving to the front. "I am also no stranger to other lives and their tragedy, though meeting those travelers did put it in perspective. The dreams I have tell me enough. Other lives filled with blood and waves..."
The priest lit a new match and began lighting a few candles in the front. Just a few. "I feel obligated to apologize yet I am aware that they are not my crimes or faults. So I won't... apologizing for things you do not do weakens the words of an apology in the future. I can, however, feel sympathy to your plights and sufferings. If you need a place you are more than welcome here, for as long as you need. This is a sanctuary to all that require it. Yourself included. And if you need an ear, well. I am a priest. I am happy to listen and offer whatever I can."
Seishirou blew out the match in hand, having lit all that needed to be so and for a moment he watched the faint tendrils of smoke spiraling upward from the match. "And this place is very safe... The Subaru of this world keeps it so. He's very insistent, very worried..." Perhaps for good reason if things always turned out so mucky for their lives in different worlds. He wouldn't lie and say he didn't think about it and worry occasionally. But he liked to believe. It was a matter of faith... The lives of others would not dictate his life here.

"I think so too…" The treasure hunter chuckles, as he watches the trees and it branches dances along with the wind. "No, it’s just a habit, however I also guess it’s the time difference that affects me as well." Fuuma explains, he usually gets up early back in his home world, although he wonders why, he never questioned it. "I’m just a fan of them, you can say it’s due to the family I grown up with and it grew on me." The treasure hunter said with a smile.
♗ — “Ah~ family? Then we’re alike in that regard. I am bound by the same principles.” The priest stepped forward and placed his hand against the bark of the tree. Sometimes, he could swear he heard their whispering. Though that would be quite strange but…
"It’s the only thing I really know about my family. My mother passed on before I could question anything. I just know about the trees and so they’re here in this courtyard." Fulfilling the duty without betraying anything he stood for. Not this church and not the family name.
"What does your family think of your traveling? Surely they must be worried…"
“We had a guardian dragon,” He said, shifting around a bit against the tiles to brace himself. “She kept barriers of protection up and gave blessings in his name. It wasn’t - pieced out like some worlds. It was more just - life. Mikos are more important than anyone else in my world. Couldn’t really separate out religion and magic if you wanted to.” Not quite sure why he was talking about religion with a doppleganger of one of his worst enemies, he scowled. A few more dogged hits of the hammer and his expression had returned to normal.
“The kid is the scholar,” He said with a grunt, leaning back to pick up a handful of nails. “Not me. And most of the time we don’t even have time to get involved much in a world. We’ve stayed barely a day in more than a few. But yeah. You pick stuff up. Even if you don’t mean to. So if you’re into that sort of thing I guess you’d like it.”
♗ -- "I find the magical religions so intriguing. I have some magic myself but it never developed... I wonder." He hummed softly, listening carefully to all the other had to say. It sounded like a fascinating life but probably not for him. There was something off putting about venturing away from home. Something in his core told him that was a bad idea. He wasn't sure if it was because of the trees he was obligated by some birth right to take care of or because it was just because the church was all he'd ever known. It was hard to say and he may never have the answer.
"I think I'm going to stay right where I am. I cant imagine there is anything out there that would mean more to me than what I have right here. Though, I am curious... you speak of home so fondly. Are you hoping or intending to return their one day? Or will you continue to travel on with your cohort?. You, like me, probably prefer home above all else. I can tell by the way you speak of it. There is much there that you'd rather return to."

♗ --The priest was in the middle of lighting candles in the church when he heard the doors open. All these people coming so late these days. What in the world was going on. If this town was becoming more active night life wise he might have to move morning mass to a later time in the day. How inconvenient...
But upon glancing back he caught sight of a very familiar face. Subaru! Of course~ He smiled at the sight of the boy, and waved him forward with his free hand.
"You needn't fear, Subaru-kun, all your wards are still in place, though I tell you it's pointless. The church here is protection all on it's own. But come in. You can help me light the candles. But at this hour... is something on your mind?"
Subaru was always with his twin... something must be on the poor boy's mind if he was coming at this hour without her. Hmm "Confessional is always open if you need it as well. I can always take time out of my day for you."

Having waken up at the crack of dawn, he finds himself at the cemetery and being comforted by the sakura trees. It's just, he isn't the only one there. "Good morning, Father Seishirou." The treasure hunter greets the other with a friendly smile.
♗ -- "Good morning, Fuuma~" The priest said in a near sing voice. "It's nice to see someone enjoying the trees for once and not grieving over the lost. I think these trees like to be admired, sadly their tucked away in this garden, which is large, but understandably lonely."
A very understandable feeling.
"You're also up quite early. Not many beat me or are willing to try beating my early schedule. Are you having trouble sleeping, perhaps?" He asked making his way over to one of the first trees and inspecting the branches and the color of the blossoms. All seemed to be in order. These trees didn't really need any looking after. They took care of themselves for the most part and any that got a little pale would be the one he'd plan the next funeral service under. It was easy work keeping up with these trees and he was upholding whatever family tradition he was supposed to be upholding. All he knew was the trees so that's what he did in the most humane way he could think. The trees seemed pleased... Somehow he could tell.
"Or are you just that big a fan of sakura trees?" the priest continued to pry. "They're quite rare in this land but I've heard that's no so in others..."
“Don’t rush me, priest.” The words were a growl, coming as he settled down near a thinning patch towards the middle of the roof. “You’re lucky I’m even doing this at all.” Truthfully, he far preferred being able to work for their keep in worlds, but there was no way he was ever letting that thought leave his mind. Fighting would be better than fixing roofs, no doubt, but at least there was some sort of physical labor involved.
The hammer paused before it hit the roof and he glanced back over his shoulder for an instant. “…what sort of - mass?” They rarely bothered with anything religious on other worlds. No time, so why bother?
“My mother was a priestess,” The words slipped a bit softer from his lips than he had meant them to, stupid religious atmosphere. Hastily he cleared his throat with a grunt. “But I doubt our beliefs were anything like yours.”
♗ -- Seishirou smiled brightly and kept his mouth shut so the testy ninja wouldn't stop working. That wouldn't be good so he'd stop his prodding and teasing. It wasn't very nice anyway. Sometimes he just couldn't help it~
"Ah?" The ninja's question surprised him. Was he really interested in going? Thankfully he his silent shock allowed him to hear the softly spoken words. "A priestess?" He questioned. "Well, technically a priestess could be part of any number religions. Unfortunately, not mine. We do have nuns, like Karen, but they don't rise much higher than that. Perhaps in time. I won't make assumptions about what you believe in and in the long run it might not matter. What matters is faith. And you certainly don't have to go to mass to have any of that." He offered a soft laugh. Smiling brightly once more the priest placed his hand just above his eyes, blocking out the glaring sun for a bit so he could see the ninja on his roof a bit better.
"However... if you do chose to go you might find it enjoyable. Or educational? There is no harm at all in knowing or enjoying other religions! I'd have loved to have met a priestess! And gone to her-ah, well whatever it is that they did or do! That doesn't mean I'm still not a practitioner of my faith! Just a scholar in some cases, wishing to know more. I consider myself an Erasmian through and through in some cases haha~ I imagine it must be a truly facinating and educational experience, going to these worlds like you do and learning about cultures and religions. You and the others must be nothing short of scholars yourselves at this point!"
“You’d think killing that freaking giant candy monster would be more than enough,” He growled tossing the hammer onto the roof before swinging himself up after it. “Since no one else around here seemed in a hurry to deal with it.”
Still grumbling to himself he started stalking up the roof to search for weakened areas. “Yeah right. If you let the mage have his way, he’ll have you thinking feeding him tea and cookies is paying him.”
♗ -- The priest stepped forward and watched the ninja get to work on the roof of his church. It was a sturdy building, all things considered. The sturdy stones kept in standing when monsters attacked. The roof was the weakest point, made out of a much lighter material. Only natural that it'd start to wear after some time in the elements. Hopefully this ninja was a decent handy man and they wouldn't have to worry about this for another few years.
"Defeating that monster seemed like nothing. I have to give you much more difficult tasks." The priest informed.
"Do you think you'll have the roof done by tonight? Or better yet, by evening mass? AH! Which reminds me, you should join us for evening mass. Unless you and your traveling friends aren't the religious kind... that's alright. To each their own. But, it'd be wonderful to see you there, all the same. My flock is really quite kind. And since you did save them from a monster, I'm sure they'd all love to meet you and thank you for all the hard work you've been doing."
#GUESS WHICH RP THIS IS AIMED AT?????#>: |
“Well it sure isn’t MY choice we’re still here. The stupid meat bun’s earring hasn’t started glowing yet.” A scowl creased his face as he glanced up at the approaching priest.
“Why am I the one doing everything? You could at least make the damn wizard earn his keep for once.” Even as he grumbled out loud, he snatched up the tools. “And why the hell do I always end up fixing roofs?”
♗ -- "Hahaha~ I don't know what any of that means," he informed the ninja, ushering him forward while he complained about this and that. A very grumpy disposition or maybe just someone that liked to complain, the priest couldn't be sure. Maybe a bit of both. "I'd be happy to hear all of this in confession sometime, as it is, I need you to get to work. Food, board, clothes and so on and so forth don't pay for themselves."
"And don't worry about a thing. I'll make sure your friends work hard!" He waved at the grumpy man who set off to do his task.
This had worked out very well for him. For giving up some food and clothes the church had gotten ample amounts of free labor. Now they wouldn't have to order all these repair people come spring. What good fortune~

♗ — “Ah, there you are." he bounced right over to where the blond was. "I wanted to make sure you had some of this goodness that fell from the sky. It's a lot tastier than you would have even thought possible, especially considering where it came from. Here, try!" He held out a dish with a slice of chocolate cake and a few plump strawberries.
The priest was well aware that none of it made any sense and that such things should not be possible. He chalked it all up to being wonderful magic and an act of God, and then tried not to question it anymore.
It was important to note that there weren't any apple dishes falling from these monsters. So...
"Go on, I promise it's delicious~"
.
He blinks, absolutely prepared to be laughed off and being asked as to why he was so serious, and he'll replied as to say that it's nothing with an indifferent smile. However this, this catches him off guard and surprised. Even so, with he gives a rare sad smile to the other, walks up to the other and pulls him into one.
"You don’t have to tip toe for this, but thank you." Though while it may be close as family, and the other is another version of a distant sibling, it wasn’t unwelcome either. It was enough for him. After a moment, he lets go, the smile completely erased, replaced by another smile. "Do you have anything you need me to do, Father Seishirou?" The treasure hunter asks.
♗ — “You’re much too tall, so I must,” the priest laughed, gently patting the back of this man. He didn’t receive many hugs. It just wasn’t something done. Occasionally from children and there were the twins that wrapped themselves around him occasionally, but this was different. This was something someone else clearly needed. Even if he wasn’t “that” person. Curious thing this traveling across time and space. It seemed to bring a lot of grief, from what he’d seen of the travelers as of late.
"At this hour, I don’t currently have any tasks for you to complete." He informed, taking a step or two back to create some distance between them. "You may rest. The last room on the right was recently cleaned for our most recent guests, so you may stay in that one. And come the morning, I’m sure I’ll have things that need to be done. While the town is small there is lots of life in it. There is always work to be done!"
