even with watching a movie from like the 90s it’s insane how much everyone looks like a Normal Person compared to anything filmed today
it’s something about the aggressively obvious 2020s makeup too on everyone in every movie no matter what the time period is. it’s the 19th century they do not have highlight!!!!
look at meg march in 1994 vs 2019. they both look great! however! emma watson is wearing very obvious lipstick, mascara, concealer under eyes heavy foundation etc etc. you can see this at a glance. i literally in making this comparison had to google if this was a promotional image that she took or actually a still from the movie because her makeup just looks like normal 2019 makeup that a girl from 2019 would wear!!! (not to mention her costume. different post.) then look at trini alvarado on the other left. obviously she’s wearing tons of makeup because she’s in a movie and she has tons of lights on her all the time but it doesn’t look she is!! you can see circles under her eyes!! she doesn’t have The Shine to her face that emma watson does. she looks so much more believable as a girl from the 1860s not because she’s a perfect representation but simply because she does not Obviously Have On Modern Makeup
I need people to know: femslash does not have a higher barrier of entry than mascslash. writing women does not require you to be a better writer than writing men does. you can write femslash that is low quality and i actually encourage it. you should write femslash that’s shitty, that’s underbaked, that you wrote in one night, that you didn’t proofread. you should write femslash for that one ship, yeah even that one other people might think is weird. you should write femslash whenever you feel like it and you don’t need to tackle misogyny when you do it, it can just be escapist, you can invent a fictional world where two women can be in love with each other without consequences. I promise you the people in fandom who enjoy femslash will love it.
i noticed there's quite a big gap between 8 year old segment and 18 year old. on one hand that's only 10 years (similar or less to the gap between other segments), on the other hand the most development happens in that specific time.
so i present to you 15 year old Dottore segment!!
my headcanon is that he'd hate all the rest THE MOST, he'd do the most unethical edgy experiments that would terrify any other segment, and would either vibe with Scaramouche (as written on the pic) or they'd be biggest enemies nothing in between.
He obviously has long bangs dyed black, black eyeshadow/eyebag/both, and a striped jumper. All the other segments have clothes matching with what the og wore at that ages (8,18 sumerian, 25 and the rest some form of lab coats), so 15 also should wear sumerian clothing. buuuut i thought it'd be more cool if he had some elements matching the omega's design. the reason behind it might be that he wanted to be treated more seriously, and more like a scientist, not soon to be student, so he took the lab coat and modifued it a bit (together with pants and shoes)
when it comes to neck wear, it seens like the other segments wore almost anything (omega - ruffle, 25 - tie, webttore - bowtie), so the bext logical choice was a scarf.

Its weird how you get more disabled over time. Like, most people i know with a disability actually have like eight disabilities and a lot of them slowed up later as a result of compensating for the earlier ones. This brought to you by me filling out a demographics form and wondering when i got to the point of checking that many damn boxes
“You get used to it” true but misleading because someday your back problems are gonna inexplicably cause stomach problems. And then you get used to the stomach problems but your thumbs start hurting because you had to do so much work on your phone lying in weird positions while waiting for the stomach problems to go away. And there are way more distractions on your phone too so while you always had adhd this just makes it more annoying/prevalent-
Anyway hi disabled people with one million conditions i love you and i hope youre having a good day with minimal pain/inconvenience

in case you're wondering what the greatest AMV of all time is, it's this one from 2008.
y'all need to watch this this pride month
GLaDOS voice: "Would you like to see some artwork I generated? I've heard from other test subjects that AI-generated artwork produces an uncanny valley response in human viewers because they can't perceive it as fully real. They've told me that it looks absolutely hideous to them, that they can't imagine anything more disgusting than AI art. But, well I've been practicing and wanted your honest opinion. Feel free to let me know how ugly you find this by ranking it on a scale from 'vomit-inducing' to 'eye-bleeding'." A robotic arm lowers from the ceiling holding a hand mirror up to Chell's face

So! This is a perfect case study in situations where you should be wary of misinformation.
Take a moment and ask yourself, a project like this requires a lot of time, money and dedication of resources, why would scientists dedicate that time to something that could just be done by a tree?
The answer is they wouldn't. So that means this claim requires further investigation!
This project is called LIQUID 3, and it's not meant for cities with wide open spaces, it's meant for cities like Belgrade in Serbia. These cities are densely populated and heavily polluted, to the point where pollution actually chokes out current trees and makes creating green spaces difficult.
Liquid 3 was a PhD scientists answer to these problems. The microalgae tank is intended for spaces where you either:
Don't have enough space to plant full trees, or
Don't have enough time to plant trees and wait for them to grow up.
The tank is extremely efficient when you consider the amount of space needed compared to the amount of CO2 turned into oxygen. The tank can operate throughout the winter. And most importantly, it can be quickly set up in areas that desperately need relief from air pollution NOW not in 10 years when trees are done growing. Children currently suffocating on polluted air can't wait for trees to grow, they need to be taken care of now, and Liquid 3 is one of the ways to take care of them. Depending on the species of microalgea used, a number have shown a pretty amazing capacity to pull heavy metals out of the air which is something trees can get choked up by.
The tanks aren't just tanks either! Liquid 3 have solar panels placed on top, they have lighting and mobile phone charging, and they work as public benches. The designers of it want to encourage green spaces where there's room, but where there isn't room or time, Liquid 3 can step in. Realistically, this isn't a replacement for trees. It's replacing boring metal city benches with new, cooler benches that also clean the air (and have at least some heating during the winter).
Not only that, but the microalgea that grows is native to Serbia and all that microalgea has a ton of great uses! It makes for great fertilizer, compost, wastewater treatment, cleaner biofuels and even for helping create new tanks for further air purification. They only require a quick algae divide once a month, and the produced algae can be carted off to where ever it's needed. This makes them effective solutions for areas that can't sustain complex installations.
So yeah, there's actually quite a lot of places that would like these. Lots of people currently breathing in terrible quality air would much rather have their boring city benches replaced with really fucking cool algae tanks that clean the air and can be used to help create + sustain future green spaces in cities. I dunno about you, but I'd take that over a dumb metal bench any day. Put these at every bus stop and I'd be delighted.
can ppl pls reblog this version
Serbian here living in Belgrade! This is all true and I've actually seen some of these around the city a few times. They're amazing at what they do and really cool to watch up close because you can see pretty swirling inside them. It's not only functional but aesthetically pretty nice as well!
genshin kind of funny as fuck for having canonical nominative determinism
#All the npcs in mondstadt like who the fuck names a kid durin#Vs 500yrs ago in sumeru who the fuck names a kid zandik
(op's tags)
I have a post in my drafts about this, but something something Ei not giving Wanderer a name and her wanting him to have freedom. And Wanderer later receiving a name from the Traveler, a Descender
Also, more stuff related to Teyvat's canonical nominative determinism is the name of Columbina's constellation (which we know is a character's fate) being the name she chose for herself
