An Art Logbook

oh man I’m already not sticking to my uploads here. But anyways this I did today as a task for university. We were suposed to make a transition from one emotion to another in just 50 frames (2 seconds). Furthermore we were tasked to put extra emphasis on 3 key poses that are easily readable on their own. I chose to make my character feel insecure and lonley but trying to look though as he realises hes seen by others. I feel it turned out alright considering we only had 3 hours time for the whole thing. U can see I basically neglected the legs and lower body and focused more on arms and upper body movement as it’s more important for the shape language here.

This really is just a scribble and I wanted to go crazy with colors. Often when I paint or texture, I tent to choose rather desaturated colors in fear of not overdoing it. That often leads to lack of life or personality. So from the start I Just threw in very vibrant colors and it really does help I think to just get that fear out of the way. Obviously for a less abstract piece the challange then becomes to balence out the colors so its not just pure crazyniss going on. I also did this all out of my head, no refrence and I didn’t take much time refining the base sketch so the face did end up looking a bit wired. Though that really wasn’t my goal anyway. I also experimented with some wierd brushes and tried to think more counciously about how i make a stroke as that is something i definetly want to be better at. 

oookey well, I haven’t been on tumblr in forever ever.  Mybe this is a dumb idea and I won’t have time for shit but I’ve been thinking about actually blogging here now, like not just reblog stuff. It’s supposed to be more of a self  reflection thing were I try to look and explain on art pieces that I do. so I ultimatly do not really care if anyone looks at it. That said, I actually managed to get some followers on this blog somehow by reposting stuff i liked rarely commenting on some of it. Although i have to admit a lot of those accounts look kinda sus..  Whatever if you are follower reading this and don’t care about it.. I’m not your dad you can leave.  If you are curious, u can expect mostly 3D work, I love sculpture, occasional 2d art. maybe even game related stuff or short animations.  I’ll try to write a bit of thought process to what I’m posting. As stated I want it to be like a reflection thing you know like a journal. I haven’t fully figured it out though so I’ll also learn along the way.
