      she  knows  the  effect  she  has  on  people  -  always  has  known  she  was  the  class  clown  in  a  way.  it  wasn’t  always  on  purpose  though.  a  lot  of  the  time,  anything  that  came  out  of  bertha’s  mouth  was  her  just..  being  herself.  that’s  all  anyone  could  really  expect  from  her,  and  she  was  glad  that  amelia  liked  her  for  who  she  was.  it  was  nice  just  having  a  genuine  friend.  “it’s  just  stupid.”  english,  that  was.  “i  prefer  swedish  too  and  i  don’t  speak  it  so.”  despite  her  friend’s  desire  to  get  her  back  to  work,  her  gaze  was  still  locked  onto  the  wall,  practically  refusing  to  glance  down  at  her  textbooks.  school  was  just  too  hard.  she  constantly  had  a  headache.  “can  we  go  for  a  walk?  please?”  a  small  pout  makes  its  way  onto  her  expression,  growing  with  the  furrow  of  her  brows.  anything  to  make  amelia  give  in.  “please?  please?  please?  i  promise  i’ll  listen  and  get  back  to  work  then.”

“What’s  this?”  The  parchment  was  slicked  from  under  Amelia’s  finger  tips  and  into  Marlene’s  hand,  cutting  around  the  corner  of  the  table  and  ignoring  chairs  for  the  much  preferred  seat  atop  the  flat  wood  surface.  It  was  also  a  grand  height  away,  which  she  was  sure  Amelia  would  try  to  reach  for  rather  soon.  So,  to  savor  the  moment  she  had,  Marlene  made  show  of  squinting  her  eyes  on  the  tiny  inked  words  that  were  splotched  onto  the  flimsy  sheet.  “My  goodness,  it’s  like  a  love  confession  innit?”  Jocular  shock  rose  in  the  sing-song  of  Welsh  accent,  “Amelia,  I  know,  I  know  I  give  you  plenty  of  winks  throughout  the  day,  but  twenty  inches  is  quite  a  bit  more  than  necessary  don’t  you  think?” @pendvlums​

Alice always tried her hardest to be kind to those around them. Their parents had always brough her up to be kind and nice to everyone. Of course, that was some what difficult when a large proportion of the castle detested some of her friends. But, Alice’s motto was to kill them with kindess. Or most of the time anyway. She tried even more with those closest to her. She couldn’t remember a time in recent years when Amelia hadn’t been there for her, and so she was always going to be there for her. Even if she didn’t want her there. Alice would always be there.

“I’ll always be here for you Ames….” The gryinffor murmured, moving around slightly so she could look at her properly. She was speaking the truth. She would never not be there. She adored the girl in front of her, and she knew she wouldn’t be who she was without her. “You’re my best friend….  you don’t have to ask.” She prided theirself  in knowing their friends. She adored Amelia, and would always be there, regardless of what happened. “And you don’t have to thank me. I know you’d do the same if our roles were reversed.”

          there  are  too  few  kind  souls  that  roam  the  grounds  at  hogwarts  ,  having  to  be  so  cautious  as  to  not  fall  in  a  pit  of  snakes  .  the  gryffindor  ,  however  ,  is  no  serpent  ,  characterised  by  compassion  and  kindness  ,  two  traits  that  make  amelia  adore  her  so  .  come  to  think  of  it  ,  she  wouldn’t  be  able  to  conjure  up  one  negative  attribute  that  the  other  has  ,  nothing  but  a  light  in  an  ever  darkening  world  .  she’s  a  reminder  that  there  are  still  good  people  in  this  world  ,  despite  its  harsh  realities  . 

            he  didn’t  intend  to  seek  amelia  out  to  guilt  her  ,  but  he  was  beginning  to  see  the  error  in  his  approach  .  he’d  spent  so  much  of  his  time  worried  sick  over  her  ,  blaming  himself  for  not  being  good  enough  for  her  to  confide  in  ,  making  desperate  attempts  to  get  ahold  of  her  for  so  long  yet  she’d  evaded  him  like  a  phantom  .  he  wanted  nothing  more  than  to  keep  her  safe  ,  something  he’d  failed  so  miserably  at  …  and  she  fled  from  him  .  ivaan  knew  he  was  selfish  ,  too  preoccupied  with  how  she’d  wronged  him  to  fully  comprehend  the  circumstances  .  while  he’d  never  dream  of  rushing  her  grief  ,  he  was  lost  as  to  why  she  had  to  cut  him  out  of  the  picture  as  well  .  if  not  him  who  else  would  be  there  to  kiss  away  her  tears  and  make  sure  she  was  eating  ?  it  was  a  thought  that  made  him  nauseous  .  overcome  with  regret  ,  he  couldn’t  bear  to  look  at  her  .  his  tall  physique  towered  over  her’s  and  yet  he  felt  miniscule  ,  reduced  to  smithereens  ,  heart  shattered  by  the  harsh  reality  of  what  their  relationship  had  dissolved  into  .   things  between  them  were  forever  changed  and  she  was  blissfully  unaware  of  the  hold  she  had  over  him   .  

            he  had  no  desire  to  erase  their  memories  and  start  afresh  with  someone  new  .  he  recalled  the  days  in  which  her  eyes  shone  for  him  ,  shimmering  with  the  possibility  of  love  .  the  unconditional  kind  .  he  wished  he  had  a  time  turner  ,  a  way  to  set  the  clock  back  to  prevent  her  from  experiencing  such  trauma  ,  or  a  way  to  plummet  the  two  back  to  an  era  where  they  could  be  themselves  —  untainted  by  the  impending  war  .  he  flinched  as  she  spoke  ,  her  words  resonating  within  his  chest  .  “  and  i’m  sorry  .  i’m  so  fuckin’  sorry  and  i  know  those  words  don’t  mean  anything  at  this  point  but  i  am  .  i  just  was  so  scared  for  you  .  i  didn’t  know  where  you’d  ended  up  or  if  i’d  ever  see  you  again  .  ”   he  sighed  ,  sincerity  evident  in  his  expression  .  he  reached  out  for  her  hand  hesitantly  ,  craving  the  warmth  of  her  touch  one  last  time  ,  “  i’ll  fuck  off  and  leave  you  alone  ,  since  that’s  what  you  want  .  but  know  that  you  aren’t  replaceable  to  me  .  i  wouldn’t  be  behaving  like  such  an  obnoxious  git  if  that  were  the  case  .  ”

          the  bedtime  stories  her  mother  would  read  her  growing  up  had  certainly  warped  her  perception  of  reality  ,  shielded  from  the  harsh  actualities  of  life  .  of  course  ,  she  had  been  exposed  to  tales  of  evil  stepmothers  and  ironically  enough  wicked  witches  ,  but  she  had  learnt  that  good  always  prevails  .  however  ,  only  recently  has  she  come  to  realise  that  the  real  world  is  nothing  like  her  fables  ;  she  is  no  princess  and  he  is  not  her  knight  in  shining  armour  ,  no  matter  how  hard  he  tries  to  be  .  what  he’d  face  would  be  far  worse  than  any  dragon  or  old  hag  ,  and  it’s  attempt  that  she  will  not  allow  ,  for  the  sake  of  losing  him  too  .  letting  him  go  is  a  sacrifice  ,  with  both  of  their  happinesses  on  the  line  ,  but  it’s  silly  to  think  that  they’re  each  other’s  ‘  happily  ever  after  ’  ,  still  so  young  and  naïve  to  think  those  exist  .  with  each  tragedy  she  experiences  ,  she  becomes  less  of  an  idealist  ,  but  she  cannot  physically  ignore  how  she  feels  about  him  ,  despite  how  hard  she  tries  to  suppress  it  ;  certain  that  if  soulmates  exist  ,  he  is  hers  .  it  still  doesn’t  make  it  right  for  her  to  ask  him  to  wait  ,  not  when  she  can’t  be  certain  if  it’ll  ever  be  safe  or  if  she’ll  be  able  to  reciprocate  how  he  feels  in  a  way  he  deserves  .  

His words gave a flip to her heart and the butterflies dancing inside her stomach went wild, she was assuming he spoke of her, the words were exhilarating and a bit intoxicating. Narcissa flips her hair to lay all on one side of her face as she tilts her head intrigued by his words nonetheless. The touch of his fingers against her skin however are quick to distract her, electricity travels from the spot all the way to her back. “I could never toy with you, I wouldn’t dare.” She batted her lashed at him as she bit her lower lip, pressing her leg closer to his touch. It felt wrong however so good all at the same time. 

            mary  wasn’t  that  naive  ,  she  could  see  the  way  hate  glimmered  in  his  dark  eyes  .  it  was  tempestuous  territory  ,  carefully  walking  the  edge  between  defending  herself  and  making  herself  another  muggleborn  on  his  list  of  prey  .  she’d  had  enough  to  handle  as  it  was  ,  housemates  of  his  giving  her  plenty  of  misery  .  she  wished  to  be  anywhere  else  .  specifically  far  away  from  having  to  make  the  choice  of  controlling  herself  ,  something  she’d  not been  the  best  at  as  of  late  .  she  didn’t  fear  zabini  himself  ,  but  what  he  stood  for  ,  and  how  many  others  would  be  quick  to  agree  with  his  fallacies  .  she  wouldn’t  let  him  win  ,  mary  refused  to  feed  his  ego  in  such  a  way  ,  her  own  gryffindor  pride  intent  on  winning  the  battle  of  wits  .  his  mere  existence  was  an  insult  to her  ,  just  as  her’s  was  one  to  him  .  the  two  contrasting  in  every  conceivable  way  ,  upbringings  in  particular  .  privilege  seeped  from  his  essence  ,  handed  everything  from  birth  therefore  incapable  of  empathy  or  listening  .  she  knew  nothing  but  struggle  and  judgment  ,  the  latter  being  something  she’d  yet  to  escape  .  “  as  invigorating  as  whatever  this  is  ,  you  keep  insisting  you’re  here  out  of  pure  hatred  but  the  way  you  linger  persuades  me  otherwise  .  pray  tell  ,  demetrius  —  ”  she  trailed  off  ,  testing  the  way  his  name  sounded  on  her  tongue  as  if  they  weren’t  adversaries  .  “  have  you  ever  had  a  soul  ?  or  have  your  eyes  always  been  hollow  and  lifeless  .  ”  she  questioned  ,  feigning  innocence  .

               greta  knew  that  despite  her  position  here  at  hogwarts  ,   the  some  of  the  students  were  never  going  to  respect  her  the  way  they  respected  some  of  their  classmates  .     but  unlike  some  of  her  classmates  she  was  not  going  to  take  that  lying  down  .     she  had  never  considered  herself  a  fighter  the  way  that  some  people  were  ,   but  she  would  use  her  words  to  prove  her  points  .     plenty  of  people  weren’t  going  to  like  her  ,   and  greta  had  long  ago  given  up  on  the  idea  that  people  respected  each  other  just  because  they  were  a  living  being  .     potions  was  her  least  favorite  subject  ,   and  regrettably  ,   greta  had  decided  that  she  would  take  it  again  this  year  despite  knowing  how  big  of  a  weakness  it  was  .     “  aye,     ya  sorry  lump  !   ”     she  shouted  after  a  third  year  who  barreled  past  her  almost  knocking  her  books  out  of  her  hands  ,     “  show  some  respect  .  ”     unfortunately  ,   the  student  had  been  taller  than  her  and  hadn’t  seemed  to  care  that  they  nearly  knocked  her  over  .

emma vanity !

in   some  sort  of  twisted  way  ,  this  was  precisely  one  of  the  reasons  why  emma  adored  demetrius  so  much  .  it  wasn’t  just  that  he  was  always  dependable  when  she  yearned  for  a  good  time  ,  the  snake  was  a  breath  of  fresh  air  in  the  midst  of  a  suffocating  existence  .  the  young  woman  was  free  to  be  because  quite  frankly  ,  he  couldn’t  give  a  damn  unless  whatever  plagued  her   directly  involved  him  ,  which  it  rarely  did  .  in  her   moments  of  weakness  ,  he   was  a  welcome  nirvana  .   ❛    well  it’s  certainly  what  keeps  be  coming  back  for  more  ,  i  assure  you  .    ❜  she  continued  her  glib  joke  ,   offering  only  a  nod  in  silent  thanks  before  taking  a  slow  sip  of  the  liquid  poison  ,  revelling  in   the  soft  burn  it  left  behind  at  the  back  of  her  throat  .   ❛   you  never  do  disappoint  ,  dear  .  wonderful  selection  .  proof  enough  i’m  your  favorite  .  SO  ,  entertain  me  with  a  story  ,  what  have  you  been  up  to  lately  ?  anything  fun  happening  in  these  dull  halls  ?   ❜
