He couldn’t let him go, because when he thought about it, his livelihood was at risk. The man knew he was Dedsec, and it wouldn’t surprise him if he willingly sold him out

“He knows I’m Dedsec, Aiden. If he finds out you’re with me? I’m fucked. Everyones gonna know.”

“Then he needs to be disposed of!” Yelling was hardly something Aiden ever did, especially to someone he cared about in any manner; it just wasn’t who he was. But his voice did raise enough to be construed as yelling, and in frustration, he pressed his lips together into a thin line, turning away and heading for the stairs.

“I don’t need to tell you anything. I know what you’re gonna do, Aiden. I’m not stupid” It hurt, that was all he could really focus on right now. That and the spinning of his head. He’d be fine. He just had to make sure that his father was as far away as he could be. Maybe telling him wasn’t a bad idea though, maybe the worry of his dad would be over and done with. Marcus huffed

“My father. Don’t do anything to him, please. That’s all I want”

An abusive father. Aiden’s eyes widened slightly, jaw tensing as he sighed through his nose, gaze fixated on tending to Marcus’s split lip briefly, only to stand. “You know I can’t do that, Marcus. You know that.”

“No, you need to tell me who did this to you, and you need to tell me right now.” There was no way Aiden was letting go of this; it wouldn’t have mattered who it had been, but the very fact that it was Marcus only made it ten times worse; whoever the perpetrator, Aiden was going to make sure they either ended up in a world of pain, or dead.

“..I’d like to, but...I don’t know.” 

It’s painfully clear just how torn he is on the subject, eyes lowered as if in shame. There’s not a day that’s gone by since they left Chicago that he hasn’t thought about them, thought about what he did to them just to get justice for Lena, and how it only seemed to make things all the worse.

“They’re all the family I have, I want to reconnect with them, to be there for them. I want to protect them, always, but when I tried to get revenge for both Nicky and myself after Lena’s death, it...seemed like maybe that hadn’t been the right thing to do.
