Why and How Staying Organized Can be Helpful
How to stay organized in your environment
In order for me to stay organized I have found ways to organize my school work and supplies my room in order to help me be successful. Staying organized can help reduce yoru stress levels. When you are less stressed you are more likely to be able to focus on your assignments. And when you are able to focus on your assignments, you are more likely to do better in school.
I stay organized by having all of my school books separated from my for fun books. I also use an iPad to have my school stuff in because it personally helps me to have something that everything is on versus a notebook here and a notebook there. I also think that I am able to stay organized because everything has its place and is color-coded when it comes to my school work. For example, this semester I have my psychology class as purple, statistics as red, women and gender studies as orange, and my PEAK course as teal. This color stays the same on my iPad, laptop, planner, monthly whiteboard, and my weekly whiteboard.
I also like to make to-do lists but on a notepad. There is nothing more satisfying to me than to have a list where you can cross things off after getting them done. For me this also adds to my environment because I like to have it right where I can see it. This being said because it also not on my iPad or my laptop it can be difficult to remember where I put it or to even fill it out for that matter. I have found however that remembering to fill it out has helped me be more motivated. You can find really cute ones where you are able to match it to your room theme as well. Having three ways to narrow down what I need to get done in certain time period is way easier than not having it at all for me. It also adds to my environment because I can leave little encouraging notes for myself when I do all of things that I need to do.
I have also found that when I do have things printed off it is easier for me to have binders for each class rather than folders. I feel like binders are easier to find things in instead of ruffling through folders in other to find things. Same with my actual school supplies as well, always having a specific place to put things. Like a cup or container for pens and pencils, and having a pencil case. Having a spot for crafty things like paints and colored pencils is important as well. All of these things can help you to feel way more organized and ready to take on your day everyday.
