Perhaps I should attempt some diplomatic bridge building? We could talk about guns if he likes…! Or even some friendly target shooting. I have, of course, been taught by the best at this point.

These are the things I keep in mind, Governor, in times such as these: -I have spent these last years enjoying the close, personal company of all five of these delightful young men. -I have married and had a baby with one of these delightful young men. -On a daily basis I receive multiple messages, calls, and photographs from each of these delightful young men, all of them friendly, sweet, and entertaining, and frequently full of good wishes. -I have been privy to their personal lives in ways that their fans will never be. -I have mentioned that I married one of them, yes? -And this is his baby currently coloring next to me. -I have a job that I love, making differences for these wonderful young men and the people they love, and the places they love, and for the galaxy as a whole. -I am respected, important in my field, and recognized for such. -I have everything I want. These people who take issue with me do not have the opportunity to be close to my friends. I am lucky. There is, more or less, nothing that can be said to upset any of my good fortunes. Nothing can eliminate my happy, romantic, comfortable marriage, or my beautiful daughter; nothing can put an end to my close friendship with Heero Yui, or any of the others. Why on Earth would what these people have to say ever have any effect on my life or my emotional state? It's really nothing to worry about! :-)
