Welfare Drops 1-million People this Year

Do me a favor, the next time you see someone with food stamps paying for something you don't want them to eat, go ahead and shove it.

They're likely in a position to where people like you are driving them to depression and suicide, and the pint of ice cream or the snack cakes they buy to pig out on are the only things keeping them from coming unhinged.

And don't tell me that welfare is sucking our budget dry. Welfare for families - including food stamps and checks - come to about 7-1/3% of the U.S. budget. How many of those people are supposed fraudulent welfare recipients? Well, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates it to be around 2.67% of recipients are fraudulent. That is a whopping 0.0134% of the budget is due to welfare fraud. It's just not enough to get worked up about. If we are going to err on the short or long side, as Americans, wouldn't we want our brothers and sisters to have more than enough to get back on their feet? Or should we hang the proverbial carrot in front of the donkey, leaving no satisfaction for the true hunger they bear?

It's a matter of whether or not we want to be a people who are willing to take a stand and help others up out of their poverty or just leave them starve. I choose to stand.
