        --------“Physical sicknesses wouldn’t give these kind of psychological symptoms, even if taken to extremes it more or less tends to cause a variety of hopelessness and anxiety but not to the extremes you have described,”        He had seen what physical sicknesses did, insanity was very rarely included in the list of mental symptoms that came along with it. Mental symptoms rarely came along with physical sicknesses, it had to do with the patient their mind state, something a doctor would try to change since it often wasn’t a clinic illness, just hopelessness for what is about to happen.

        Anxiety was clear, the fear of tipping too far, of tasting a forbidden fruit, afraid that he might like the dark side of himself or where he might go if he lost control of the small things he did control. That seemed to be his most prominent fear, not even the fear of his other side rather the fear or loss of control, not being able to pick who he really is, being pushed in a variety of directions but none he chose on his own. 

        He smiled.       “Prisoner is a harsh word to use.”         He commented as he sat down.       “Call them limitations, boundaries we can very much overcome, we start out with realising the truth, realising out nature and what that implies.”        Being called a prisoner to your own consciousness wouldn’t be accurate nor inaccurate, it depended on how you treated your consciousness and once aware of these boundaries, how you continued.

I find the statement of adapt or die a bit too pessimistic but you can compare it to such, we can remain ‘prisoners’ to your consciousness or we can adapt, evolve and overcome the hurdles in this race.”
