This is the lore that my Garrett goes by , however this doesn’t mean I won’t change it/tweak it depending on threads with other vampire’s to help mush their lore into mine. This is more for humans interacting with Garrett.
THE TURN . The human must be drained of blood by the vampire and the blood lost needs to be replaced by some of the vampire’s blood. The vampire and human then must sleep in the ground until the newborn rises as a vampire the following night. The newborn and the maker will then have a maker-progeny bond, unless the maker deserts or releases their progeny. Their control over their bloodlust is non-existent and resistance comes with age. Newborns need their maker in order to learn and develop, and with age they become more adept at controlling their abilities.
MAKER-PROGENY BOND . Each relationship is different , however there are a few things that are consistent . A maker can ‘call ‘ their progeny by saying their name out loud, and the progeny can maybe hear where they are and go to them. The maker can also command their progeny or forbid them from doing something as long as they have not been released. Maker’s are normally stronger than their progeny because of their age. Makers also have a sense of pain or duress that their progeny undergoes and will know when a progeny has died. Progeny can be released from their makers, while a maker can still call them, the progeny can then choose to come or not.
Creating Progeny is something that some vampires consider carefully and do not take lightly as they normally are responsible to the vampire authority for them afterwards. Some Makers treat their progeny like children and others as companions or love interests. It depends on the relationship and the vampire. Some makers create newborn armies and do not care if they create a lot of progeny.
BIOLOGY & ANATOMY . Vampires are incredibly fast and strong and grow stronger and quicker with age and a healthy diet of human blood. Drinking animal blood will sustain them, but human blood will keep them in top physical condition. Some are remade with special abilities that they brought with them from their human life.
Garrett has fangs and they extend when he’s lustful , hungry or has a very powerful emotion . He can also control his fangs , so when in danger he can extend them , but they are hidden away and do not stay out . It’s not practical for vampires . He wants to blend in slightly to make his prey , humans , feel safe . fangs can be used to sever the limbs of humans and other creatures . His bloodlust can be sated for a while , but it’s always a lingering feeling . However he can control himself to drink just what he needs from a victim and release them . While at first bloodlust can be like a feeding frenzy, years of practice can help. Fangs do produce venom to paralyze their victim and it can slowly kill them if too much is injected (i.e. Bella Swan being bitten.)
He does not physically age, the only noticeable effect with aging is that they become physically stronger after that first few months of incredible strength as a newborn with a fresh supply of human blood running through their body. After that – as you age you are stronger , with the exceptions of those with natural talents and gifts. Garrett has also not changed and has been identical to how he looks with the exception of facial hair and hair length. Vampires can grow hair.
He cannot get anyone pregnant.
Vampires do not have to sleep every night, however to re-charge Garrett does sleep during the day a couple of times a week. Vampires have ‘hidey holes’ where they sleep because they are at their most vulnerable. If a vampire does not sleep or feed they will eventually perish.
VAMIPRE BLOOD . When a human drinks vampire blood a psychic and emotional connection is made . The human will begin to dream about the vampire and may find themselves more attracted to them. In turn the vampire can sense the location and sense of emotions of the human. The vampire blood user will then have enhanced abilities such as strength, senses, aggression and libido as long as the blood is in their system. There are healing qualities to vampire blood which can heal a human faster.
EMOTIONS . Maturity comes overtime with humans and with Vampires . However, vampire’s are predators by nature and therefore are more prone to animalistic qualities and mannerisms such as when being threatened , will hiss, growl and bare their fangs. Overtime there are some who have become more sophisticated and have adopted a more human-like manner when under duress.
Vampires have human emotion, but some choose to forget or allow it to slip away as they carry human emotion for much longer than any human. Some as they get older grow more compassionate to the humans and other creatures around them, while others do not gain that emotional maturity. Some discard all human emotion and believe that they are part of the superior species.
COMMON ABILITIES. Vampires have a Eidetic Memory and can perfectly recall things that others may have forgotten. Vampires can Glamour humans or a few of the more common supernatural creatures. Glamour is a form of hypnosis or mind compulsion, but this requires the vampire to be strong and have practiced it. There are ways to shield against glamouring. They have the ability to heal quickly, however if the injury is severe enough they need to ingest blood. They are also immune to most diseases with the exception of Hepatitis D and V. They have superhuman endurance and are more resilient to physical trauma. They also have heightened senses that go well beyond human senses, which allow them to see, hear and smell with a greater range and clarity. Superhuman strength and speed. They appear gone to the naked eye. Speed advances with age as does strength. Vampires are capable of lifting heavy objects such as mobile homes, trees and whole cars. Some vampires have the skill to imitate voices.
WEAKNESSES. This includes Decapitation. Garrett cannot enter a home unless invited and even then they can rescind their invitation (some humans do not know this). They can drink too much blood and be a bit euphoric and drunk. Fire can kill a vampire. Vampires have no shield against magic. Contact with silver will burn and melt the surface of the vampire it touches. It is a very common way of binding or incapacitate vampires. Sunlight can kill a vampire if exposed for too long without a daylight ring. Vampires can be staked through the heart and die.
