WHAT’S IN MY PENCIL CASE??? (pretty much everything. i carry too much.) 

the “pencil case”: not actually a pencil case. it’s a brown laura mercier makeup bag with a gold zipper (thrifted!!!) and guys if y’all are like me and feel compelled to carry too much shit with you, use a makeup bag those things are hella robust and can hold so much more 

some non-writing essentials: protractor, white out, ruler, 30/60 set square, and two flash drives (white one is for school stuff, black one for past papers) i actually highly recommend carrying a set square with you. when drawing charts on non-graph paper, the set square prevents any slanted vertical lines that drive me up the wall 

uni-ball signo DX pens in .38: (i have these in black, blue, red, green, and purple.) LEFTIES WHERE Y’ALL AT CAUSE THIS INK DRIES FAST SMUDGED HOMEWORK NO MORE I SAY. i use these for any kind of homework whether it may be essays or labs. they were especially awesome for the sciences when we had to graph by hand. i believe the full set of twenty-or-so colours is only available in .38 tip.

muji eraser and pencils, and some .5 lead: all of my courses are strictly pen-only except for math so i don’t use these as often, though i do use pencils for rough drafts of diagrams/charts/graphs in bio/chem before going over them in pen 

muji .38 gel-ink ballpoint pens: for any colour-coding purposes (aka planners and english lit annotations) and to doodle when classes are feeling slow af 

muji double ended highlighters: for your usual highlighting needs. the fine tip end allows me to underline better

paper mate inkjoy 1.0 pens: pretty sure i got this entire pack for under $2 at walmart. they’re cheap, colours are vibrant, and the ink flows well. i use these for ALL of my notes (scrappy class notes, neat recopied notes, revision sheets, etc.) since i take a shit ton of notes i didn’t want to use pens that are more expensive so i opted for these. also, the triangular barrel provides a comfortable grip which is important when the teacher is talking too damn fast 

sticky notes/tabs: i keep these in a separate pouch but i carry with them with me to every class so i figured it was worth mentioning. both my brother and i use a lot of sticky notes so i believe we bought a massive pack from costco of five colours. A+ very helpful to have these on hand 

i decorate the ends my pens with strips of washi tape. since a lot of people at school use the same writing utensils, this way i don’t get mine mixed up with someone else’s!! also if people know it’s mine if i happen to have lost a pen. and they just look cute this way.
